Answer: Pullman

Pullman has WSU (pronounced and often spelled Wazzu) Seattle has University of Washington (UW), Spokane (actually Cheney, just to the south) has Eastern Washington University, and Bellingham has Western Washington University.
8. What is the mountain range running north-south through the middle of the state?

Answer: Cascade Mountains

The Cascades are in Washington and Oregon, the Olympics are in Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula (my home!), the Coast Range is in Oregon and California, and the Rockies stretch from Canada to Mexico.
9. These three towns make up the 'Tri-Cities' area.

Answer: Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick

The Tri-cities are where most of the people who worked for Hanford Nuclear Site live. Too bad it's downwind of the plant....
10. Which of these towns is on an island?

Answer: Oak Harbor

Oak Harbor is on the beautiful Whidbey Island. There's only one bridge off the island, over Deception Pass. Otherwise, you take a ferry to Everett or Port Townsend.
