Answer: Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam is one of the biggest cities in Andhra Pradesh, with a 2009 population of over three million. It also known as "The Jewel of the East Coast" and "City of Destiny". Tirupati is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage locations in India and one of the busiest pilgrimage sites in the world, thanks to the temple of Lord Venkateshwara located there. Kurnool was the first ever capital of the undivided state of Andhra Pradesh.

The state split in 2014 with the formation of Telangana, which retained Hyderabad as its capital. Vijayawada became the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
2. Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Sagar, and Khajuraho all belong to which state?

Answer: Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Ujjain is a holy city and the Kumbh Mela is held there every dozen years. Khajuraho, of course, is one of the most popular tourist destinations of India, famous for its monuments with sensual statues. The Khajuraho group of monuments is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is considered one of the "seven wonders" of India. Indore, Gwalior, and Sagar are all major cities within Madhya Pradesh as well.

Answer: Kerala

The capital of the south Indian State of Kerala is Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala promotes its tourism globally as "God's Own Country" and is one of the most visited states in India. The "National Geographic" magazine has named Kerala as one of the "ten paradises of the world" in 2008 and "50 places of a lifetime". Guruvayur in the Thrissur District is most famous for its temple and is a busy pilgrim centre. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter this temple dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappa (considered a form of Lord Krishna). Ernakulam is found in the Ernakulam District. Calicut is home to the Kozhikode Beach, while Cochin is a harbour city. Munnar in the Iddukki District is a well known tourist destination, attracting thousands of tourists from all over the world every year.

Answer: Rajasthan

One of the most visited states in India is Rajasthan (capital city of Jaipur), famous for its history, magnificent and majestic forts and the Thar Desert with its beautiful sands. There are hundreds of palaces all over Rajasthan, the lakes of Udaipur, and desert forts of Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaisalmer are among the most preferred destinations for many tourists, both Indian and foreign.

Quoting from Wikipedia on tourism in Rajasthan: "Rajasthan is famous for the majestic forts, intricately carved temples and decorated havelis, which were built by Rajput kings in previous ages, they were the soul of pre-Muslim era Rajasthan. Jantar Mantar, Dilwara Temples, Chittorgarh Fort, Lake Palace, City Palaces, Jaisalmer Havelis are part of the true architectural heritage of India. Jaipur, the Pink City, is noted for the ancient houses made of a type of sand stone dominated by a pink hue. At Ajmer, the white marble Bara-dari on the Anasagar Lake is exquisite. Jain Temples dot Rajasthan from north to south and east to west. Dilwara Temples of Mount Abu, Ranakpur Temple dedicated to Lord Adinath near Udaipur, Jain temples in the fort complexes of Chittor, Jaisalmer and Kumbhalgarh, Lodarva Jain temples, Bhandasar Temple of Bikaner are some of the best examples." Haryana and Punjab share the capital city of Chandigarh. Kurukshetra is famous for the Great War in Mahabharata that was waged there for 18 days, and because the 'Bhagvad Gita' (or the 'Lord's Song') was said to have been preached by Lord Krishna to Arjuna at this place. Panipat is also the site of three great wars that were to have a massive influence on the history of India.

Hisar was known for its early resistance against Islamic rule (in the 600s AD). Rohtak and Ambala also have rich histories and are not to be missed!

The state is home to many natural resources of minerals like iron ore, coal, bauxite, limestone and uranium and its vast forests. Koderma itself has mica as prime natural resource. Bokaro boasts of Asia's largest steel plant, while Jamshedpur can claim to have India's first iron and steel factory. Dhanbad is called the 'Coal Capital of India', and Hazaribagh is also home to major coal reserves in the district.

For nature lovers, Tamil Nadu is home to many beautiful hill stations, including Ooty, Kodaikanal and Coonoor.
15. Nalanda, Gaya, Buxar, Bhagalpur, Samastipur are all towns in which Indian state?

Answer: Bihar

Patna is the capital city of Bihar, the state with one of the largest populations in India. Nalanda in Bihar is home to one of the oldest universities in the world (built around 470 AD) and the Buddha is mentioned as having stayed many times at Nalanda. Gaya is another site of importance to the tourists as Bodh Gaya, the place where Gautam Buddha got enlightenment, is situated close to the Gaya town.
