Answer: Grumman

North American Rockwell built the Command Module that orbited the moon and served as home to the astronauts during the trips to and from the moon. Grumman built the Lunar Module.
2. How many crew members were on each Apollo mission?

Answer: 3

There were 3 members of each crew. The CMD (commander), CMP (command module pilot), and LMP (lunar module pilot).

Answer: 6

There were 6 missions that landed on the moon, Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17. Apollo 13 had to return before landing after an explosion on board (you've probably seen the movie), and 18, 19, and 20 were cancelled before they were launched.

Buzz Aldrin was the LMP for Apollo 11 which meant he got out of the LM after Neil Armstrong. John Glenn was one of the original 7 astronuats and wasn't on a Apollo mission. Jim Lovell was the commander of Apollo 13 which never made it to the moon's surface.

Pete Conrad made that exclamation as he exited the LM during the first moonwalk of Apollo 12. He bet one of the other astronauts that he could say whatever he wanted when leaving the LM and that NASA officials didn't give him a 'script.'
