Answer: insignia and ribbons

Scrambled eggs were the braided insignia Navy officers wore on the visor of their cover and fruit salad were the multicolored ribbons on their blouse or dress uniform.

Answer: a fighting knife

A KA-BAR is a fighting knive. This all purpose knife is still used today. It replaced the trench knife of WWI.
10. What were 'Maggie's Drawers'?

Answer: a rifle range flag

'Maggie's Drawers' was a rifle range flag that denoted a clean miss of a target in the butts where targets were being pulled. This red flag being flashed always brought snickers and hooting until it was seen by a range NCO who would give the shooter hell about wasting perfectly good ammo.
