1. What was the most common rifle used by the United States Marines when first engaging the Japanese?

Answer: Springfield 1903

One of the oldest serving rifles in US army history, it was used as a sniper rifle until the 1960s.
2. What was the main rifle issued to US soldiers in WWII?

3. What was the main rifle issued to the German troops in WWII?

Answer: Karabiner 98 Kurz

The K98k or more appropriately, the Karabiner 98 Kurz was the mainstray of the German army. 4. What was the main German machine-gun issued to infantry troops at the start of WWII?

Answer: MG-34

MG-34 was the machine-gun which the average German infantry squad at the start of the war was built around. The process of making this machine-gun was long and expensive and it was replaced by the MG-42, but production continued until the end of the war.
5. What US sub-machine-gun was designed and manufactured during WWII and served in limited numbers during and after Vietnam.

Answer: Springfield

Springfield 1903

One of the best machine-guns of all time, a modified version of the MG-42 is still used today in several versions such as the MG-3 used by the Spanish and Germans with the main difference being a lowered rate of fire and chambered with the 7.62 NATO round.
It was also known as the "Devil's Paintbrush".
8. Which machine-gun has its roots in Czechoslovakia?

Answer: Bren

The Bren actually has its roots in Czechoslovakia. In 1935 the British tested the ZB vz. 29 which was adopted into the British army and and known as Bren. The name "Bren" is based on Brno (in Moravia, Czech Republic) and Enfield.
9. What was the most common sidearm in the German army in WWII?

Answer: Walther P 38
