Cyanide is found in almonds, and contributes to its distinct odour and flavour, but it comes in very low amounts. Virtually all commercial almonds are sweet almonds. You would have to eat upwards of 1000 (possibly 20000) almonds within a few hours to reach the LD50 (lethal dose for half of the population). Bitter almonds (which are deliberately much more difficult to acquire) can have an LD50 of around only 30 almonds.
