Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. D and D: Let's start with one that'll get your brain moving. Jack is a first level human fighter with and intelligence of 12. How many skill points does jack have?

Answer: 16

Jack gets four points for being human to start off with. Then he gets 2+ his intelligence modifier (1) times four for being a first level fighter. 4 + (2+1)*4 = 16.
2. D and D: Jack is about to go fight a horde of skeletons led by an evil necromancer. Which of these weapons should he grab from the shop before he charges into battle?

Answer: A Warhammer

Skeletons have a high damage reduction. Only a bludgeoning weapon like a Warhammer can overcome this and turn bones to powder.
3. D and D: Jack stops for a rest at the local Inn. He grabs a drink and watches the local's entertainment. Which of these classes would the character on stage have?

Answer: Bard

A bard is an entertainer at heart. With his bardic music ability, he holds the stage with ease.
4. D and D: Jack sees a white orb of light zip past the windows of the tavern. A wizard had just cast Magic Missile. How much damage does one of these spells cause?

Answer: 1d4+1 per missile

A Magic Missile deals 1d4+1 damage.

Answer: Hextor

This is Hextor's symbol.
6. D and D: Jack sees a battle happening down the street. An Orc Barbarian is fighting a human commoner with massive ferocity. His attacks seem to have more power than any normal being would have. Jack approaches to fight him but the Orc seems to be moving rather slow now. Why is this?

Answer: he is fatigued

The barbarian was obviously in a rage. After a rage is complete, barbarians are fatigued.
7. D and D: What prestige class holds the ability "High Arcana"?

Answer: Archmage

The strongest arcane spell caster, the Archmage, can morph its spell casting into other abilities through "High Arcana".
8. D and D: Jack just received 1000 experience points. It's now time for level 2! Which of these things will NOT happen as Jack levels up?

When a fighter turns level two he only gains one feat. Characters gain bonus feats when they reach levels that are multiples of three.
9. D and D: Jack just met up with an evil cleric who demands him to pay homage to his deity and abandon any previous worship that Jack had to other deities. What will happen to Jack (who is still a Fighter) now?

Answer: Some interesting Role Playing, but nothing to his class

Jack is just a fighter, divine influences don't mean much to him. Nothing very bad will happen.
10. D and D: "Galstaff, you have entered the door to the north. The pungent stench of mildew emanates from the wet dungeon walls." What are the refreshments that the players have at this gaming session? Hint: This is from the D&D sketch by the Dead Ale Wives, also known as 8-bit D and D.

Answer: Mountain Dew and Cheetos

Back in 1996 a comedy group from Wisconsin did a sketch about Dungeons and Dragons. It was also included in the game "summoner" for the PS2 as an Easter egg. It is very funny and I hope that you take some time to look at it. http://www.cybermoonstudios.com/8bitDandD.html
