1. Who was the original founder of Cadbury's?

Answer: John Cadbury

John Cadbury was one of 10 children. Aged just 22 when he first set up as a dealer of tea, coffee, hops and mustard. Soon a new line started selling cocoa and drinking chocolate, this he prepared himself with a mortar and pestle!

Answer: 1824

He opened his first shop at 93 Bull Street in the then very fashionable part of Birmingham.

John Cadbury handed over the company to his two sons in 1861.

Answer: 1879

They had soon outgrown their factory in Birmingham and with an increasing workforce they needed a new site. The brothers decided to buy a site in the country, because they felt it would be better for the food industry and their workers, it was extremely important to the brothers that their employees had better working conditions. They saw their employees as part of the Cadbury family.

Cadbury world is a one way self guided tour of the factory (not all areas are on show) there is a play area, two shops, restaurant, snack bar and picnic area on site for visitors.

Cadbury's has produced three fruit only bars to date, the Amazin' Raisin Bar from 1971-1978, Sultana Bar from 1982-1988, and the California Dreamin', but all these have been discontinued. You never know in the future one might be back!

"Coronation Street" was the most watched programme on UK television, and reached millions of households. There were lots of possible suitors but Cadbury's came forward with a £10 million package!

These mini bars come in the following: Caramel, Fudge, Crunchie, Time Out, Dairy Milk, Twirl, Dream, Nuts in Caramel and the lovely Picnic. My mouth is watering now just thinking about these!
