Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Double Dutch is used in which of the following Disney Channel Original Movies?

Answer: 'Jump In!'

'Jump In!' is about a young boxer Izzy Daniels (Corbin Bleu) who joins Mary's (Keke Palmer) double Dutch team called The Hot Chilli Steppers.
2. What's it called when you drop the rope (or ropes) in double Dutch?

Answer: Butter fingers

This doesn't happen often, only when the ender's(rope turners) hands are getting tired.
3. In double Dutch competitions, which is NOT a move they do in Compulsory?

Answer: Backflip

Compulsory comes first, then speed, then freestyle.
4. Who invented the Automatic Double Dutch Machine?

Answer: Tahira Reid

Tahira's machine was inspired from a third grade drawing contest that she entered about what people wanted to see in the future and won first place.
5. The ropes are supposed to be going outward when they are turning in double Dutch.

Answer: False

The ropes are supposed to be going inward. I tried jumping in when the ropes were going outward; didn't work out that well.
6. Here's a question about a double Dutch trick. What is it called when you're jumping into the ropes then going underneath one of the enders?

Answer: Tunnel

This is actually a trick for a single rope, but people can use it for double dutch.
7. In double Dutch, strut is a trick they do in the ropes.

Answer: False

The many tricks are tunnel, pop-up, 360, high step, high step clap, criss-cross, hand plant, backflip, one foot hop, and many other tricks; too many to list.
8. You have to be really good at single rope jumping before you can try double Dutch.

Answer: True

You have to practice all the time; I'm talking two to three hours a day at single rope to become really good.
9. In what trick do you use both your feet and your hands on the floor at the same time while jumping double Dutch?

Answer: Push-up

To me, push-up is the most hardest trick they do in the ropes. It took me two and a half months to learn.
10. What's this called: Kicking your knees up to your waist while jumping double Dutch?

Answer: High step

High step is the first trick I learned that took me only thirty minutes to learn.
