1. How much pre-printed money did the bank contain in a 1980s Monopoly set?

Answer: $15,140

The bank must have enough money for up to eight players to play. According to the rules however, you could write on pieces of paper to create bills if necessary and the amount it unlimited. Modern sets since 2009 have $20,580 - 30 bills of each denomination.
2. Which of the following was not the color of a property in the 1980s?

Answer: khaki

Mediterranean and Baltic Avenues are brown in modern sets but were originally purple. Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky Avenues are red. States Avenue, St. Charles' Place, and Virginia Avenue are magenta.
3. There are five railroads in Monopoly.

Answer: False

There four railroads called Reading, Pennsylvania, B&O, and Short Line.
4. What is the rent on Boardwalk without any houses or hotels?

Answer: $50

Park Place's rent is $35, Pennsylvania costs $28, and Connecticut is $8.
5. How much money does each player receive from the banker at the beginning of the game?

Answer: $1500

Everyone gets two $500 bills, two $100 bills, two $50 bills, six $20 bills, five $10 bills, five $5 bills, and five $1 bills.
6. Melrose Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard are spaces in Monopoly.

Answer: False

There are no boulevards in Monopoly. Although several avenues do exist, Melrose is not one of them.
7. Which of the following is not one of the Monopoly game pieces?

Answer: umbrella

It would be interesting if there was an umbrella piece, but unfortunately, there is not one in the U.S. Monopoly game. The dog, wheelbarrow, and thimble pieces are real pieces from the original 1936 edition although not all of them survived the 21th century changes.
8. What happens when you draw the Chairman of the Board card?

Answer: you must pay each player $50

I'm sure everyone hates drawing this card.
9. It costs $60 to buy Baltic Avenue.

Answer: True

Baltic and Mediterranean Avenues are the cheapest properties on the board.
10. Which company manufactured Monopoly up to 1991?

Answer: Parker Brothers

MGM is a movie company, Nintendo does video games, and Milton Bradley is a different game company. Parker Brothers was bought by Hasbro in 1991 and the game is now marketed under the Hasbro brand.
