Question 1 of 10
1. I have a rolled up camping habitation in the trunk. It is a marvel of modern engineering with a waterproof floor and zippered doors. What am I unpacking? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Next out of the trunk is a square green boxy apparatus that will sit on the table and cook the eggs and bacon. It would have a gas cylinder attached, if only I could find it in this mess. What am I setting up? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The tent is up but wait there is another rolled up camping habitation. Whatever next? There are probably some instructions here. Looks like it is mostly poles and mesh, but the poles are so hard to figure out. Better ask a more seasoned camper for some help. What am I digging out of the trunk now? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. OK, back to the jumble in the trunk (or boot as they call it across the pond). I'd like to give a boot to the person who dreamed this next one up. Rolled up in the trunk is a grey amorphous mass that I will bring to the tent. Laying it out on the floor, I attach a foot pump and mash it several thousand times as the amorphous mass uncoils. What have I found now? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Under the spare tire, I find a net rolled up in a ball with a ring and a rope at each end. It is completely tangled and will test my patience as I string the ends between two trees. I am looking forward to lying in it later with a cold barley sandwich, snoozing. What can this thing be? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Right next to the spare tire is a big blue plastic container with handles on either end and wheels. It weighs a ton and lifting it out nearly breaks my back. There is a handy spout to drain fluids at one end. The top lifts up to reveal some ice and a few dozen beverages. What am I unpacking now? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. The trunk is looking emptier - just a few more items. I grab a glass and metal contraption from the recesses. I won't need it yet but as soon as it gets dark, this is going to be real handy. What have I got here? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Rooting around in the trunk , I am looking for a can that reminds me that I am in the deep woods, as if I didn't know. This little can will stop me from going bonkers swatting mosquitoes as they zoom in for a little top up. What am I looking for? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Packed into the corner of the trunk are some downy lumps in nylon bags that I have yet to throw in the tent. The kids can't be sleeping in the master bed, not after I spent all those hours pumping the darn thing up. They will cuddle into these items and get zipped in as toasty as anything. What am I throwing in the tent? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. The last item I went for in the trunk is probably the most necessary item in the whole lot. Yet it is so small, it gets stuck in the farthest cranny. It has a handy leverage point on one end and the really good ones have a corkscrew or possibly a LED on the other end. What invaluable object am I searching for? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I have a rolled up camping habitation in the trunk. It is a marvel of modern engineering with a waterproof floor and zippered doors. What am I unpacking?

Answer: tent

Modern tents may have floors to keep out the rain, which you know is going to happen on the only weekend you get away from the office. Zippered doors keep out mosquitoes, but are less effective for hungry bears or your kids whichever are worse.
2. Next out of the trunk is a square green boxy apparatus that will sit on the table and cook the eggs and bacon. It would have a gas cylinder attached, if only I could find it in this mess. What am I setting up?

Answer: camp stove

Oh boy, if you guessed waffle iron, you were wrong. Close but wrong. No gas cylinder there, boys and girls. The camp stove is my first pick to set up. Get me a coffee, someone.
3. The tent is up but wait there is another rolled up camping habitation. Whatever next? There are probably some instructions here. Looks like it is mostly poles and mesh, but the poles are so hard to figure out. Better ask a more seasoned camper for some help. What am I digging out of the trunk now?

Answer: screen room

Well this couldn't be easier. The screen room, as the camping set call this, is a mesh enclosure held up by poles and I set mine up over a convenient picnic table so that the bugs don't bother the diners and drinkers. You can even play cards in perfect bliss.

Answer: air mattress

Well, give me a break. This is too hard. The air mattress always leaves me in a sweat as I pump in the baking heat for hours. Next time I am going for the mattress with the batteries and the electric fan and the speakers.
5. Under the spare tire, I find a net rolled up in a ball with a ring and a rope at each end. It is completely tangled and will test my patience as I string the ends between two trees. I am looking forward to lying in it later with a cold barley sandwich, snoozing. What can this thing be?

Answer: hammock

Well, hammocks have to be the nicest thing to laze around in on a warm afternoon. I just have to finish setting up. How are you doing in the quiz? Getting harder now.

Answer: ice chest

The ice chest is an important addition to any weekend encounter with large carnivorous animals. After a few bubbly beverages, the bears take on a new look. They are kid of cute and cuddly especially the little ones. Makes you want to give them a hug.
7. The trunk is looking emptier - just a few more items. I grab a glass and metal contraption from the recesses. I won't need it yet but as soon as it gets dark, this is going to be real handy. What have I got here?

Answer: lantern

A camp lantern is handy since we haven't learned the knack of echolocation. It also attracts a million bugs which leads us to another trip to the boot.
8. Rooting around in the trunk , I am looking for a can that reminds me that I am in the deep woods, as if I didn't know. This little can will stop me from going bonkers swatting mosquitoes as they zoom in for a little top up. What am I looking for?

Answer: bug repellent

The bugs are bad at this site and so I have the bug repellent. There must be a swamp nearby. Why did I ever chose this place anyway? Oh yes, all the good places were full on the long weekend.

Answer: sleeping bags

Sleeping bags are so comfy when you are zipped in, but a bother after a few beverages. You have to crawl out to visit the comfort station which means undoing the zip and dragging your weary body out of the confines of your bag.
10. The last item I went for in the trunk is probably the most necessary item in the whole lot. Yet it is so small, it gets stuck in the farthest cranny. It has a handy leverage point on one end and the really good ones have a corkscrew or possibly a LED on the other end. What invaluable object am I searching for?

Answer: bottle opener

You really couldn't go camping without a bottle opener. What would you drink on a hot day? I guess in a pinch you could get a bottle of water, provided the bears haven't ripped the ice chest up to get at the bacon.
