1. This was the home of the British press until the 1980s. What set is it from?

Answer: Reds

The property in question is Fleet Street.

Its origin was as the road that linked the City of Westminster to the City of London.

At the end of the street were the medieval London walls where the River Fleet was located.

The first publishing house began here in about 1500 and was followed by many more.

In March 1702 "The Daily Courant", the worlds first daily newspaper, began printing on Fleet Street.

The last major news office, Reuters, left the area in 2005.

The other red properties include The Strand and Trafalgar Square.
2. This Monopoly property prominently featured in some of the "Harry Potter" novels. It is a part of which set?

Answer: Stations

Kings Cross Station opened in 1852 and it provides national train services to and from the north and east of England and Scotland.

J.K. Rowling chose Kings Cross Station as the place where the Hogwarts Express began its journey. It uses platform 9¾ which is accessed by passing through a brick wall between platforms 9 and 10. In reality platforms 9 and 10 are not in the main station building and they don't have an adjoining barrier - they are separated by train tracks.

The other three stations are Marylebone, Fenchurch Street and Liverpool Street.
3. This road is in Westminster and is associated with government administration. What colour set is it in?

Answer: Magentas

Whitehall is a road but it is lined with so many government ministries and departments that the name is often used as a synonym for Government Administration. It also tends to indicate the surrounding area.

Britain's principal war memorial, The Cenotaph, is located in the centre of the road.

It is also a major thoroughfare for tourists as it contains the Horse Guards and connects the Houses of Parliament with Trafalgar Square.

The other two purple properties are Pall Mall and Northumberland Avenue.

Park Lane became a fashionable address in the eighteenth century with many mansions built by the elite of the time.

It is now one of the busiest roads in central London.

The road is the western boundary of Mayfair - the other dark blue property and the most expensive on the board.
5. This district became forever linked with an infamous serial killer. To what set does this property belong?

Answer: Browns

Whitechapel is the area in which Jack the Ripper killed his victims, commencing in 1888.

At this time England had a major influx of immigrants - mostly into the Whitechapel area.

It became so overcrowded that a large percentage of people were living in poverty which led many women to prostitution.

The police estimate that Whitechapel was home to about 62 brothels and 1200 prostitutes.

It is the second cheapest property on the board - the cheapest being Old Kent Road.
6. With what set would you associate E.ON?

Answer: Utilities

E.On is one of Britain's largest energy companies. It was previously known as Powergen.

The utilities comprise of the Electric Company and Water Works.

If you owned one of them you could charge 4 times the amount on the dice but if you owned both you got 10 times.
7. This square is known as "Theatreland". You can purchase same day theatre tickets for half price here. What colour is it in?

Answer: Yellows

Leicester Square is home to many cinemas - including one with 1600 seats.

The middle of the square contains a small park with a statue of Shakespeare surrounded by dolphins.

The pavement has inscriptions with the distance in miles to the countries of Britain's former empire.

The two other yellow properties are Coventry Street and Piccadilly.

Answer: Oranges

Marlborough Street was an extremely fashionable address in the 18th century but became mostly commercial in the nineteenth.

The 1st Duke of Marlborough (1650 - 1722) was an esteemed soldier who served for 5 monarchs - Charles II, James II, William III, Mary II and Anne.

The 7th Duke of Marlborough was the grandfather of Sir Winston Churchill.

The other orange properties are Bow Street and Vine Street.
9. This property was originally an Inn on the Great North Road. What set is it found in?

Answer: Light Blues

The Angel Islington was an inn near the toll gate on the Great North Road.

It is the only property in any country's edition that includes a Public House.

It has been said that it earned its place on the board because Victor Watson, the managing director of the company that produced the British edition, and his secretary met at The Angel to discuss the property choices for the game.

Euston Road and Pentonville Road are the other Light Blues.
10. All of the properties in this set are well known shopping streets. What colour are they?

Answer: Greens

Oxford Street is in Westminster, it has over 300 shops and is the busiest shopping street in Europe.

Regent Street is in London's West End and is also famous for its Christmas Lights.

Bond Street, situated in Mayfair, is more upmarket than Oxford or Regent Street. It has been a fashionable place to shop since the 18th century.
