1. What is the standard life point total both players start with at the beginning of each match?

Answer: 8000

8000 points are allocated per player, although if can be changed if both players agree. In the anime, 2000 life points were used in the first season, since season two, this has been changed to 4000.

2. What is the maximum number of cards the Extra Deck may contain?

Answer: 15

The maximum number of cards in an Extra Deck is 15, although it is allowed to have fewer than 15 in it. Fusion Monsters, Synchro Monsters and Xyz Monsters are allowed in an Extra Deck.

3. The color of Effect Monster Cards is white.

Answer: False

Effect Monster Cards are orange. The five type of Effect Monster Cards are Continuous Effect, Trigger Effect, Multi-Trigger Effect, Flip and Cost Effect.

4. To summon a level 6 monster, one monster on your side of the field must be tributed.

Answer: True

Monster level 1 to 4 don't need tributes to be summoned, level 5 and 6 monsters need 1 monster tributed in order to be summoned, level 7 and up need 2 monsters to be tributed (although there are some exceptions where 3 monsters need to be tributed).

Once you have the correct Fusion Monster card in your Extra Deck and the matching monsters for that card on the field, you can use the polymerization magic card to combine those monsters.

A Field card affects the whole field, both your monsters and your opponent's monsters. Only one at a time may be played (two by master rules). You can, of course, play a new one after the active one has been destroyed.

If you have more than 6 cards in your hand at the end of your End Phase, discard cards from your hand until you have six cards remaining. This does not apply to your opponent's end phase.
