Answer: Jesus

Jesus sings this after the Last Supper when he has gone to the Garden of Gethsemane.

The disciples have fallen asleep and Jesus has a moment of doubt over God's plan for him.

2. What type of train engine is Greaseball in "Starlight Express"?

Answer: Diesel

Control introduces Greaseball as "the greatest diesel locomotive in history"
and Greaseball himself mentions it in "Pumping Iron".

Grizabella is the Glamour Cat who left the tribe and went into the outside world and fell on hard times.

Gus is the Theatre Cat.

Growltiger is a character Gus played in his youth and tells the audience about in "Growltiger's Last Stand".

Griddlebone is Growltiger's love interest in the play.

Answer: Ireland

This is from "The Beautiful Game" which is set entirely in Ireland amidst its political and religious upheaval in 1969.

The song is a duet sung by our Catholic heroine, Mary, and an unknown Protestant girl. They both sing of their love for their land with only the following lyric difference:

"Mary:
This fair land is God's own country,
and it's Catholic and Republican and free

Protestant Girl:
It's a Protestant land made by God's perfect hand,
and a Protestant country it will always be."

This is sung by Eva, Che and her past lovers as she moves from one to the next - always better dressed and higher up in his profession than the last.

This song, from the 1996 film, reunited ALW and Tim Rice for the first time in 13 years.

It was written specifically for the film but was then included in the stage version in the 2006 London production.

It also won an Academy Award in the same category.

It is sung by Eva as she leaves the hospital, terminally ill, toward the end of the movie. She knows she can be of no further political use to Peron but he is still with her.

9. Which musical is based on a book by Gaston Leroux?

Answer: The Phantom Of The Opera

Gaston wrote his most famous work - "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra" in 1910.

It has been made into several stage plays, musicals and films since this time but ALW's is probably the most widely known.

"Aspects Of Love" is based on a novel by David Garnett.

Wilkie Collins wrote the novel that "The Woman In White" is based on.

"Cats" is from T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats."

This is sung by the brothers and Joseph towards the end of the show.

The famine has hit Canaan and the brothers have come to Egypt to beg for some food from Joseph - although they don't know it is him.

"Girl Meets Boy" is sung by Joe and Betty in "Sunset Boulevard".

"Going, Going, Gone!" is about the auction of Edinburgh Castle in "The Likes Of Us".

"Goodbye Mum, Goodbye Girls" is from "Tell Me On A Sunday (2003)"
when our heroine is leaving London at the beginning of the show.
