"Song and Dance" is a musical in two acts. The first act is called "Song" where we follow the love life of an English woman who moved to the USA. The "Song" part is based on the earlier musical by Lloyd Webber called "Tell Me On a Sunday" with the brilliant lyrics by Don Black.

This is truly a "tour de force" for the leading performer since it's a one woman show! The second part is called "Dance" where it's all about dancing. The music for the second act is from "Variations," a musical piece which Lloyd Webber composed for his brother, Julian.

The song above is "Tell Me On a Sunday." The role of the English girl (later known as "Emma") has been played by various actresses such as Marti Webb, Bernadette Peters, and Denise Van Outen.

On January 9, 2006, "Phantom" became the newest Broadway's longest running musical, even longer than "Cats" and it's still going strong. Today "The Phantom of the Opera" is still playing to a full house every night at Her Majesty's Theatre in London and The Majestic Theatre in Broadway.

It's a story of Norma Desmond, a famed star of yesteryear, who is trying to make a comeback. Patti LuPone and Glenn Close originated the role of Norma Desmond in the London and American productions respectively.

This song is called "Whistle Down the Wind" from the musical of the same name. The lyrics are by Jim Steinman. The musical is based on the novel by Mary Hayley Bell. It opened in London in 1998 with Marcus Lovett and Lottie Mayor as the two main characters, The Man and Swallow. Though the musical is not as successful as Lloyd Webber's earlier works and has never got to Broadway, it does contain some very beautiful music.

The musical has some really lovely tunes such as "Travel Hopefully," "Half a Moment," "When Love Arrives," and my favourite "By Jeeves."

"Pie Jesu" is from Lloyd Webber's "Requiem." It was first sung by Sarah Brightman and Paul Miles-Kingston with the Winchester Cathedral Choir. "Santa Santa Evita" is a verse from, of course, the musical "Evita."

"Amigos Para Siempre" is the official song for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. The piece was written by Lloyd Webber and Don Black with Jose Carreras and Sarah Brightman as the performers. Watch out, the verse I gave you is the second time they sing "Amigos Para Siempre" so the answer is "a love that cannot end" not "you'll always be my friend."

Remember this one? You'd probably recognize it if you are a real fan of Lloyd Webber. This one is called "The Heart Is Slow To Learn." It was first sung at ALW 50th Birthday Concert at the Royal Albert Hall by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and was later heard at the "Masterpiece" concert in Beijing sung by Elaine Paige.

The song was meant to be written for the sequel to "The Phantom of the Opera" but the lyrics was later changed to "Our Kind of Love" for "The Beautiful Game" instead.
