Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to the song "Giving Them What They Want", how is your right arm?

Answer: Akimbo and relaxed

In this song, Lawrence (played by John Lithgow) is telling the audience how he likes to pick up his women and how he plays them. In this part of the song he tells how he walks into a room and lets every woman there know that he is of some importance.
2. In the song "What Was a Woman To Do", where did the usherette put Lawrence?

Answer: J-13

The usherette decides to put Lawrence in J-13. In this song it shows all of Lawrence's victims and how they still think of him as a prince. How silly of them.
3. In the song "Great Big Stuff", who is on the phone?

Answer: Guccione

This song is the first song by Freddy (played by Norbert Leo Butz) on the CD. This is the song that Dirty Rotten Scoundrels sang at the 2005 Tonys. Norbert Leo Butz also won a Tony for his part in this show. This song tells the story of Freddy wanting "great big stuff" by conning women out of their money.
4. In the song "Oklahoma", what isn't in Oklahoma to block the lovely view?

Answer: tree or a Jew

Jolene (played by Sarah Gettelfinger) sings the song of her lovely Oklahoma.
"And we'll wonder into Tulsa for the weekend,
Throught the windows of the pick up we'll be peekin'
Not a tree or a Jew,
to block the lovely view."
5. What isn't Ruprecht all about?

Answer: Pulling Stickers Off Hairy Skin

This song features mostly Lawrence disguised as a prince telling his newest victim about his tragic brother Ruprecht, or, should we say, Freddy.
6. In "Here I Am", what is the first thing Christine thinks is French?

Answer: The way to be

This song is the first time we meet Christine (played by Sherie Rene Scott, who was nominated for a Tony for this part). Christine has just arrived in Beaumont Sur Mer and is explaining to the audience how great she thinks this place is.
7. What did Sergeant Benson win when he was caller number eight?

Answer: Tires

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" was based on the movie staring Michael Caine and Steve Martin made in 1988. In this play, two con men make a bet to see who can $50,000 from heiress Christine Colgate, the "Soap Queen." In this song we see Freddy disguised as Sergeant Benson, a crippled soldier who lost the ability to walk after his love left him.
8. In what year is it really hard to keep the oath to not harm someone?

Answer: 380 BC

The plot thickens as Lawrence shows up disguised as famous surgeon Dr. Emil Shuffhausen and decides to take a look at the tragic "Sergeant Benson." He starts off gently enough by just wiggling his toes...and then he gets out his whip and starts hitting him in the legs.

While doing this, Dr. Shuffhausen tells Christine how he had to take the oath to not harm patients while attending medical school.
9. What is faith?

Answer: toes

Finally, a song that goes like this! One that starts off soft and low and ends with a kiss. Of course as you can tell this isn't your ordinary play, so the song that goes like this is only one sided since Freddy has been tricking poor sweet and innocent Christine...or is she innocent?
10. How much money had Christine cleared out last year?

Answer: 5 million

Now the climax of the play has passed and we are onto the falling action. The finale. Well, turned out Christine wasn't as sweet and innocent as once believed. Instead she has stolen the $50,000 dollars from Lawrence and Freddy. Turned out that Christine was the mysterious "Jackal" who had been reported on the news at the beginning of the show.
