Poseidon was the god of seas and rivers. He was part of the Big Six: his siblings were Zeus, Hades, Demeter, Hestia, and Hera. He had many wives and many sons, but his main wife was Amphitrite. Poseidon was moody and feared Zeus.

Some of his symbols were the trident, the horse, and the dolphin.

2. This god's throne was gray rock. It had ram's heads on the arms and he sat on a cushion of goatskin. There was a swastika on the back.

Answer: Hermes

Yes, Hermes had a swastika on the back of his throne. Back then, the swastika was good luck (which, as the trickster god, he needed) until Hitler chose it for the Nazis. Since then, the swastika has become a symbol of Anti-Semitism and hatred.

3. This god's throne was made of highly polished gold. There was a sundisk above it with twenty one rays made of arrows. There were magical sayings on the back and sides. He sat on a cushion of python skin.

Answer: Apollo

Apollo was the God of light, music, bachelorhood, and reason. He was the son of Leto and Zeus and brother to Artemis. He had many wives. Apollo was tricky, able to reason well, vengeful, and moody.
Some of his symbols were the laurel crown, the white mouse, the crow, his golden bow and arrows, and the lyre.

4. This god's throne was from Hestia. It was gold-plated and made of wood. It had snakes and horned animals on it. It was decorated with grapes.

Dionysus was the God of Wine. He was the youngest and the only Great God to be half mortal (His parents were Zeus and Semele). He was kind and gentle to those who honored him but there was madness and destruction to those who didn't. He died each winter and was reborn each spring.

The concept of a wheelchair (or a swivel chair) was unknown in the Greek's time. I think it is so interesting that Hephaestus had robots, automatic chairs, and other mechanical wonders. He really was the future. He was the God of Smiths and Fire. He used robots to walk (he was lame) and some of his symbols were the hammer and the quail.

8. This Goddess had a throne of pure silver. It had two date palms on the back, full moons above, and she sat on a wolfskin cushion.

Answer: Artemis

Artemis was the Goddess of the hunt and unmarried women. She was sister to Apollo. Artemis was cold and pitiless. If anyone saw her naked, she turned them into a stag. She hated marriage but took care of young mothers. When she was young she made Zeus promise never to make her marry.
Some of her symbols were silver arrows, the stag, the full moon, and the she-bear.

9. This Goddess had a throne made of ivory. Above there was a moon, and on the arms there were golden cuckoos and willow leaves. She sat on a white cowsilk cushion.

Answer: Hera

Hera was very jealous. She was jealous. Did I mention she was jealous? Hera was the wife of Zeus and part of the Big Six. She was the Goddess of Heaven and Marriage. She had three crystal stairs leading up to her throne. She was proud, vain, and vengeful.
Some of her symbols were the peacock, the cow, the cuckoo bird, the pomegranate, and willow leaves.

10. This Goddess had a silver throne with golden basket work on the back and sides. There was a crown of violets above.

Answer: Athena

Athena was the Goddess of wisdom, useful arts, and war. However, unlike Ares, she went to war for just causes. She was very competitive and was the companion of Nike (no, not the shoe). She had two different origin stories: the daughter of Metis and Zeus or the daughter of Poseidon and an African Goddess.
Some of her symbols were the wise owl, the olive tree, and all birds in general.
