Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the song "The Highway of Love" what are the names of the two children?

Answer: Noah and Emma

In this the four actors sit in the "car", represented by four rolling office chairs. During the song they spin around each other singing and yelling at each other. It's especially hard to choreograph, the actors usually bump into to each other for much of rehearsal!
2. In the song "Waiting" how many seconds are left until half-time?

Answer: 32 seconds

Then the woman askes her husband, "32 real life seconds? Or 32 football seconds?" Unfortunately for her it's 32 football seconds!
3. At whose funeral do Muriel and Arthur meet?

Answer: Judith

After they meet Arthur proceeds to hit on Muriel and askes her out for coffee. She at first resists, but in the end decides she "could live with that." And the two shuffle offstage. It's quite a touching scene.
4. In the monologue "The Very First Dating Video of Rose Ritz" what class has Rose just enrolled in at the High School Adult School?

Answer: Magic

She has to choose between step aerobics and magic. She decides on magic, because she thinks she can meet more guys. Too bad all the guys are across the hall in the step aerobics class trying to pick up girls!
5. Name the song this line is from. "But please don't make a fuss. 'Cause you inspire us, like Marlo Thomas and Mary Tyler Moore."

Answer: Hey There Single Guy/Gal

This song is sung by two parents who've just found out their son is breaking up with his long time girlfriend. The parents, of course, are convinced that their son should be married. Hilarious lyrics.
6. What kind of pizza is ordered in the song "He Called Me" ?

Answer: A pie, extra anchovies

The girl in this song is elated because the man she's dating actually called her when he said he would! Two pizza deliver men and her mother join in the celebration!
7. Name the song this line is from. "But then again, you should have seen her man Ken. All those calories he logged up. 'Til his arteries clogged up. He died on the couch watching ESPN."

Answer: Always a Bridesmaid

A woman sings this song about all the weddings she's been a bridesmaid at. She states that she's "been down the aisle, as much as Liz Taylor. But I've always stood off to the side." Another song with clever, witty lyrics.
8. In the scene "Whatever Happened to Baby's Parents?" what is the baby's name?

Answer: Frank Jr.

He's known affectionately as "Franky Jr."
9. Name the song this line is from. "No whimprin' like a puppy. I gotta macho-uppy."

Answer: Tear Jerk

This is by and far my favorite song in the whole show. It's sung by a guy who askes a girl out to the movies. And as he says in the song "And that my friends, was my one big mistake!" She chooses a chick flick! His idea of a good movie is "Mindless, violent action." In the end he watches the movie, gets caught up and starts crying!
10. Who wrote the lyrics for the show?

Answer: Joe DiPietro

A subsequent show of his played off-broadway. It's called "The Thing About Men".
