1. Who was the composer and lyricist for "In the Heights"?

Answer: Lin-Manuel Miranda

Lin-Manuel Miranda was both the composer and lyricist for the show. He did the first draft of the show when he was still in college and it opened on Broadway nine years later.
2. What did the boat that rescued the main character's family really say?

Answer: US Navy

Abuela Claudia tells Usnavi, "Your father said Usnavi, that's what we'll name the baby". In the song "Hundreds of Stories," we learn that "It really said US Navy".
3. What school did Nina leave?

Answer: Stanford

Nina felt like there was too much pressure and couldn't keep up. She lied about it to her parents because she was ashamed.
4. What did Vanessa say she would do with $96,000?

Answer: She'd be downtown in a nice studio, out of the barrio

Sonny said he would invest and protest to make the neighborhood better. Benny wanted to go to business school. Daniela wanted to move to Atlantic City.

Vanessa sings, "The neighborhood salon is where I'm working at the moment" in "It Won't Be Long Now".
8. Who does Sonny have a crush on?

Answer: Nina

When he finds out she is with Benny, he claims that "she was my babysitter first!"
9. How many Tonys did the show win in 2008?

Answer: Four

It was nominated for an impressive 13 awards and won four - Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Orchestration, and Best Choreography. It also won the Grammy for Best Musical Show Album.
10. What show did both Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo (Vanessa) work on after "In the Heights"?

Answer: West Side Story

Karen Olivo played Anita and won a Tony for her performance. Lin-Manuel Miranda did the translation for the lyrics, since some of the show is in Spanish.
