Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the 1998 video of 'Cats', which cat never sings by herself?

Answer: Victoria

When Victoria first sings, she sings with Jennyanydots. Then when she sings her other line, she sings it with Jemima, the kitten with the most solos in the whole musical.
2. Electra only sings one line by herself in the 1998 video of 'Cats'. What are the words she sang? "With book and with ____?"

Answer: bell

Electra sings this in the song "Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats". She is the first kitten to be seen on screen. If you thought that the answer was "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" then you may have been watching "Mary Poppins".
3. Apart from Rum Tum Tugger, to what other tom does Jemima seem to be attracted in the 1998 video of 'Cats'?

Answer: Alonzo

She shows this a little bit at the Jellicle Ball.
4. One of the women who plays a kitten in the 1998 video of 'Cats' is American.

Answer: False

Phyllida Crowley Smith (Victoria), Jo Bingham (Etcetera) and Leah Sue Morland (Electra) are all British. Veerle Casteleyn (Jemima) is Belgian.
5. Victoria, Jemima, Etcetera and Electra aren't the only young kittens in the Jellicle tribe. Some people think that Plato, Tumblebrutus, Pouncival and who make a group of young kittens?

Answer: Admetus

You can see Plato, Tumblebrutus, Pouncival and Admetus dancing in a group during "Rum Tum Tugger" in the 1998 video of 'Cats'. I think that they make a cute little bunch of kittens, as do Victoria, Jemima, Etcetera and Electra.
6. What comes after these lyrics in the musical 'Cats'? "Sunlight through the trees in summer, endless masquerading. Like a flower as the ____" ?

Answer: dawn is breaking.

"...The memory is fading." This part was sang by Jemima during "Memory" as a solo until Grizabella joins in with her, singing the sentence "Like a flower as the dawn is breaking."
7. During 'The Old Gumbie Cat', the kittens put on mouse masks. They then sit down and do a few little actions. At this time, in the 1998 video of 'Cats', who is sitting between Etcetera and Victoria?

Answer: No one

From right to left, Victoria, Etcetera, Electra then Jemima is the order. When they are getting their masks on, Veerle Casteleyn (Jemima) has a little bit of trouble putting it on, so she tries putting it on, then for some reason she takes it off then puts it back on again!
8. Is Electra the first kitten to appear on screen in the 1998 video of 'Cats'?

Answer: Yes

Electra comes first, then Jemima, then Victoria, then last but not least, there's Etcetera.
9. Which kitten sings this line in the 1998 video of 'Cats'? "Have you been an alumnus of heaven and hell?"

Answer: Tumblebrutus

Mungojerrie sings "Are you mean like a minx?", Electra sings "with book and with bell?" and Victoria and Jennyanydots sing "Familiar with candle?".
10. Who played the kittens in the Original London cast of 'Cats'?

Answer: Finola Hughes, Sarah Brightman, Anita Pashley and Julie Edmett

Finola Hughes played Victoria, Sarah Brightman played Jemima, Anita Pashley played Etcetera and Julie Edmett played Electra.
