Answer: Eponine

After her father's gang attacks Valjean, Eponine is left alone in the square. She is reminiscing about the differences in their lives now that she and Cosette are all grown up.

The students have met at the ABC Cafe to discuss their plans for the revolution. They believe that the people will join their cause.

Cosette is assuring her father that she was all right after he hears Eponine's screams. Marius has left with Eponine after he quickly introduces them. Valjean thinks that the men she saw were Javert's men and decides to leave the country.
