She's a former movie star from the silent movie era and lives in a fantasy world where she's still young and beautiful.

She seduces young Joe Gillis, who is quite happy to stay around while she is showering him with money and gifts, but when he finally decides to leave her she loses all grip on reality and kills him.

Mary Magdalene from "Jesus Christ Superstar".

It is generally accepted that Mary was a prostitute before meeting Jesus, but she is never actually called one in the Bible. She is known to be a sinner but it does not mention what this sin is.

It is also interesting that she is viewed differently by different churches today.

In the Roman Catholic church she is a symbol of repentance - the sinner who became one of Christ's most devoted disciples.

The Orthodox Churches do not regard her as sinner - to them she is a woman who lived a life of virtue and to the Protestants she is just another disciple.

Pearl, the Observation Carriage, from "Starlight Express".

Starlight is all about a big locomotion race. The engines are all boys and the girls are the carriages. Each engine must pull one carriage in the race and it is the switching of these combinations that makes up much of the story in the show.

Pearl races with both Electra and Greaseball (the two main contenders) while refusing poor Rusty (the hero), who is in love with her.

Besides breaking her promise to race with Rusty she stands by and does nothing when everyone else is picking on him.

She also betrays Dinah, her best friend, when she races with Greaseball who is Dinah's boyfriend.

Rose Vibert from "Aspects Of Love".

She is an actress who has an affair with young Alex Dillingham and then marries his Uncle George.

She is not faithful to George and when he dies, at the end of the musical, she attempts to re-seduce Alex.

Mrs Potiphar from "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat".

She is the wife of the millionaire whom Joseph works for when he is sold into slavery.

She is very taken with Joseph and attempts to seduce him on a daily basis but Joseph refuses - he will not betray Potiphar or sin against God.

In true 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' style she sets him up for Potiphar to catch them on her bed.

Marian Halcombe from "The Woman In White".

She is the half sister of young, pretty Laura Fairlie. Walter Hartwright is engaged to tutor them both and falls in love with Laura - as both girls fall in love with him.

After many trials and tribulations Laura and Walter finally get to be together. In the original production we see Marian left on stage heartbroken and alone.

As many people probably found this as depressing as I did, they later changed the production so Marian leaves with them.

The interpretation is that she is going to live with them and take care of their children. Personally I'm not sure I find that any more of a happy ending.

Swallow from "Whistle Down the Wind".

She is a 16 year old girl, with a younger brother and sister, living in the southern USA.

Her mother died this year and Christmas is fast approaching with no money to spare for anything extra.

An escaped convict takes refuge in the family barn and Swallow and the other children believe him to be Jesus and thus shelter him from the townsfolk.

Answer: Grizabella

Grizabella, the Glamour Cat, from "CATS".

Grizabella left the Jellicle tribe as a young cat to go out into the world, despite knowing that she would not be allowed back in.

There is jealousy from the other cats who take great pleasure in shunning her, but also a sense of horror over the things she got up to while she was gone.

She's a young girl from the ballet who suddenly gets a chance to sing the leading role in an opera and becomes an overnight sensation all thanks to her mystical 'Angel Of Music'.

Life is just great until the Phantom wants what he believes is his...
