Question 1 of 10
1. It's Saturday night and there's a big karaoke party going on in Asgard! It's girls only, which includes me, Freya, the goddess of love of and beauty! It will be good for me to get out after staying in and crying for so long. Wow, I've cried for such a long time, I can't remember why I started? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. After I'm done doing my hair (that takes a long time, even for a goddess), I drop by Frigg's house to pick her up on the way. She's a great friend, but sometimes she scares me. She always looks like she knows something about me that I don't. Why is that? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. After picking up Frigg, we have to make a stop by Gefjon's place to pick her up, too, which isn't too far, thankfully. When we get there, she seems quite harried when she opens the door, but that could be because her sons are visiting. Try as she might, she just cannot get them to keep their hooves off the coffee tables! What type of animal are her sons? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Lastly, we have to pick up Eir, a special friend of Frigg (we're meeting all the other ladies there). I have to cringe a little when I enter her room, because of all the pictures she has up of the human body and how it works. I prefer to keep the inside on the inside, and the outside on the outside, thank you very much. Why does Eir have so many pictures to do with the human body? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Uh,oh. Don't look at them, don't look at them... shoot, they saw us. Walking out of the palace, we spot three Norns coming straight towards us. I hope they are not planning on coming to the karaoke! They always deaden every party. I thought they almost never left home except on business? Where is their home? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. After making some quick small talk with the Norns, we make our excuses and continue on our way to the party (thankfully the Norns were on their way to visit Odin, something about his eye). We make our way to Valhalla (the Valkyries are hosting the party, they've cleared out the room for the night, my girls are so good, aren't they?), and enter through one of the 540 doors. We are greeted by one of the lovely warrior maidens and escorted into where the party is going on in full swing. Brunhilda (the maiden who is leading us) is very pleased to meet me (I guess it's not everyday you get to meet your head boss), and is very curious about a certain piece of jewelry I like to wear. It makes me invincible on the battlefield- as well as going great with any ensemble! What type of jewelry is this? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. After I've consumed a few mugs of mead, even the worst of the goddesses are starting to sound good. Up next is Idun, the goddess of youth. She doesn't sound too bad, singing "Forever Young". Oops - that was one flat note. Maybe she should stick to her day job, guarding the fruit of youth. What type of fruit is Idun the guardian of? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. During a break of the singing, the goddess Vor comes up to me. She reminded me of something I had promised to do and forgot about, I really meant to send that letter for Thor, I did! But now, why would she know about my broken promise? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. After that slightly awkward conversation, I go back to watching Frigg, who is now on stage singing "Man I Feel Like A Woman" - a true classic. I glance around to see how the others are enjoying it and spot Hlin in the crowd and wave her over. It was good to see her again, after she was so supportive of me during my time of tears. I understand she is the same with all people. Why is that? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. The night is drawing to a close, and it looks like Eir is going to be sick. Yup. Apparently all those pictures didn't help her with knowing how much mead she can consume. Oh, it looks like Gna is going to help her home. Hopefully her faithful steed is fast enough to get Eir home before she is sick again. Her horse is one of the fastest ever. Why does she need such a fast horse? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. It's Saturday night and there's a big karaoke party going on in Asgard! It's girls only, which includes me, Freya, the goddess of love of and beauty! It will be good for me to get out after staying in and crying for so long. Wow, I've cried for such a long time, I can't remember why I started?

Answer: Because I lost my husband

Freya is in fact the goddess of love and beauty, but she is also a warrior goddess. Her twin brother was named Frey, and he, too, had a hand in the wars. Freya was married to the god Od who some believe to have been the supreme god, Odin; when he suddenly disappears. Freya's tears of gold turned into amber if they fell onto trees.
2. After I'm done doing my hair (that takes a long time, even for a goddess), I drop by Frigg's house to pick her up on the way. She's a great friend, but sometimes she scares me. She always looks like she knows something about me that I don't. Why is that?

Answer: She can tell the future

Frigg, the motherly goddess of Asgard, is often associated with Freya, and there is evidence to show that they were in fact originally only one person. She is married to Odin, lending more credit to this theory. Frigg, however, has the ability to tell the future, although she never speaks of it to anyone, and is the goddess of childbirth and married sexuality.

Answer: Oxen

Gefjon is the goddess of unmarried women; and it is to her that all virgins go when they die. According to some legends, Gefjon is herself a virgin, but if she had four oxen sons, that wouldn't make sense, would it? According to this legend, Gefjon had her four sons with a giant. One day, disguised as a beggar, Gefjon goes to Sweden, and is told by the king that she would be able to have as much land as she is able to plow in one night. So, she grabs her sons, and sets them to plowing.

They do a pretty good job, because after the night is through, they had plowed the entire land of Zealand, a Danish isle.

Answer: She is the goddess of healing

Eir is sometimes said to be one of the handmaidens of Frigg, and the patroness of all health care workers. She was so powerful that it is said she could resurrect the dead, and is often believed to be a Valkyrie, women who come down after a battle and collect the dead spirits to take them to Asgard.
5. Uh,oh. Don't look at them, don't look at them... shoot, they saw us. Walking out of the palace, we spot three Norns coming straight towards us. I hope they are not planning on coming to the karaoke! They always deaden every party. I thought they almost never left home except on business? Where is their home?

Answer: At the roots of Yggdrasil

Similar to the fates of Greek mythology, the Norns were the old women who held the power to cut the threads of life of the living. Norse myth differs here from Greek, however; the Gods and Goddesses of Norse mythology were mortal, and therefore could have their life thread cut. Yggdrasil is the tree of the world, and all the worlds (Asgard, Joetenheimr etc.) are on its branches.

Answer: A necklace

The necklace which made Freya invincible on the battlefield was made of amber (no surprise there), and was made for her by four dwarves, who are believed to represent the four elements. Freya is also known as the leader of the Valkyries.

Answer: Apples

The goddesses and gods of Asgard were not immortal, as I have already said. They kept their eternal youth, however, by consuming the golden apples of youth, which Idun takes care of and ensures that only the right people are allowed to eat.
8. During a break of the singing, the goddess Vor comes up to me. She reminded me of something I had promised to do and forgot about, I really meant to send that letter for Thor, I did! But now, why would she know about my broken promise?

Answer: She is the goddess of contracts and promises

Vor is the goddess of contracts, as well as of marriage, and faithfulness between a man and a woman. She is said to have known all that is hidden between a man and a woman because she was so wise. Var is also a goddess, who punishes those who break their contracts, mostly in marriage.

Answer: She is the goddess of consolation of grief

Hlin is also the protector goddess, and it is her job to protect men (and goddesses) and console them in their grief as well.

Answer: She is the messenger for Frigg

Gna acts as the emissary to Frigg, sending out messages all over the world, including once, dropping a golden apple on King Rerir's lap in Hunaland, to allow his wife to become fertile. I hope you enjoyed this quiz!
