1. Owen was shot to death in both the book and movie. In which was he shot by Freddy Johnson?

Answer: book

In the movie he was shot by Curtis (in the book his character is named Kurtz), who was in a helicopter. In the book, Kurtz shoots Owen twice and was killed by Freddy Johnson. Owen then told Freddy to finish it, so Freddy did. Only a few pages later Freddy was killed by the Byrum (known as the weasels in the movie) that came out of Perlmutter.

Answer: movie

In the movie there was an explosive confrontation between Duddits (who was an alien-in-disguise in the movie) and the physical Mr. Gray that killed both. In the book Jonesy and Henry combined their minds with Duddits' help and went to kill Mr. Gray in Jonesy's mind. Duddits later died of leukemia.

3. Mr. Gray began to adapt to Jonesy in both the movie and book. In which did he get a taste for food?

Mr. Gray became obsessed with bacon. He became so obsessed that it became his weakness and slowed him down because, in the book, Duddits starts putting the word "bacon" into his head, causing him to stop over and get a lot of bacon at the nearest convenience store.

In the book he died because of it. In the movie and book Henry felt guilty because they hadn't known about it. The part of the book in which Duddits died was sad, but the movie exploited the death for action and made you indifferent to Duddits' passing.

The final time when he would have actually gotten it, the byrum slammed upwards and threw Beaver off the toilet. Afterwards the byrum kills Beaver and almost kills Jonesy.
