Snowfire is out scouting when he sees Darian captued by some riders. They are going to take him as a slave, but Snowfire rescues him. Snowfire gets a dagger to the arm as a result, but it isn't a horrible wound.

2. Who is Nightwind's sister?

Answer: Nightbird

Nightbird is Nightwind's sister. Nightbird has one really good friend in k'Vala, Summerdance. Summerdance and Nightbird offer to show Darian around the first time he came to k'Vala Vale.

The king stag is the one with the strongest mind. King stags have the power to seize the minds of the entire herd in an emergency situation.

Starfall found Firesong. Starfall is Firesong's father and got Firesong to come the k'Valdemar Vale to Darian. This came as a great surprise to Darian who didn't know who his teacher would be until Firesong got there.

Steelmind came on the journey, a surprise to everyone. The reason was unapparent until the journey actually started. Steelmind was in love with Shandi, and went because of her.

After journeying to the Raven tribe they did find Darian's parents. His mother was in fine shape. His father had a peg leg where he lost his foot, but the biggest surprise was that Darian was now a big brother. He had a few little siblings there too.
