Albee released this play in 1962 on Broadway. The film came out in 1966. This dark comedy is full of witty dialogue between an apparently unhappy middle-aged married couple and their young married house guests.

Answer: The Bell Jar

"The Bell Jar" is the story of a young woman who has the opportunity to intern one summer at a famous magazine. During her internship she starts to go a bit crazy and she throws all her clothes off the roof. When she gets home she can not sleep for days.

She attempts suicide numerous times. She is institutionalized and given shock therapy. Sylvia Plath killed herself in 1963 at the age of 31. This was her only novel.

"The Enormous Room" is a biographical account of cummings' imprisonment in France during WWI. He was arrested for anti-French sentiment along with a friend of his. He was missing so his father called the American Embassy in France. It took them weeks to locate him.

When they did the French government said they would release cummings but not his friend. The senior Mr. Cummings told France to keep them both then. Both men were eventually released.
