Answer: John Browdie

Squeers later catches Smike again but Browdie is on hand to help Smike escape once more. Walter Gay, Frederick Dorrit and Augustus Snodgrass are characters from "Dombey and Son", "Little Dorrit" and "Pickwick Papers" respectively.
