5. Rebecca, Rowena, and Robin

Answer: Ivanhoe

Sir Walter Scott's historical novel is set at the time of the Third Crusade, when King Richard the Lionheart is away from England. The Saxon Lady Rowena and Jewish nurse Rebecca both love Sir Wilfred Ivanhoe. Robin of Locksley (aka Robin Hood) also features in the adventures.
6. Leopold, Molly, and Stephen

Answer: Ulysses

James Joyce's classic follows Leopold Bloom through the course of one day in Dublin: June 16, 1904. Other characters include his wife, Molly, and student Stephen Dedalus. Each chapter uses a different literary style and re-interprets an episode from Homer's "The Odyssey".
7. Hercule and Ariadne

8. Jake and Brett

Answer: The Sun Also Rises

9. Hester, Pearl, and Arthur

Answer: The Scarlet Letter

Nathaniel Hawthorne's tale of guilt, punishment, and redemption features Hester Prynne, an adulteress, and her daughter, Pearl. Arthur Dimmesdale, manages to hide his role in the affair, but is consumed by guilt and publicly confesses his sin before his death.
10. Dimitri, Ivan, and Alexei

Answer: The Brothers Karamazov

Dostoyevsky's last novel uses the story of the three brothers and the murder of their father to explore philosophical topics such as the existence of God and morality. Although Dimitri is engaged to Katrina, he is in love with Grushenka, his father's mistress.

When the father is murdered, Dimitri is tried and convicted, although he claims his innocence. The actual murderer is revealed later in the book...as is the fate of brother Ivan, who goes mad, and Alexei (Alyosha), a novice monk.
