Brian was thinking of his mom and the blond man when he was with his friend, Terry. He calls it "The Secret."

After landing the plane into trees, he crashed into the water. Luckily, he managed to pull himself out of the lake and onto dry land, where he collapsed.

Mr. Perpich was Brian's English teacher. He thought of his teacher because Perpich was always thinking positive, and Brian needed to think positive to be able to survive in the wilderness.

When Brian woke up to a terrible stench, he knew something was alive in his shelter. He started kicking and threw his hatchet at rocks, creating sparks. It alarmed the porcupine and left Brian with a sharp pain in his leg from its quills.

Brian did not have a match, or a magnifying glass, and rubbing two sticks together didn't work. But when he saw that his hatchet created sparks when he threw it at the porcupine, he used it to create a fire.

Brian remembers that his Uncle Carter used to eat raw eggs in a glass when he was going to eat turtle eggs. It made Brian feel queasy, but he ate the eggs anyway.

The first thing Brian made to catch fish was a spear. After several failed attempts, he remembered that the water created an optical effect, so he just had to aim lower.

Brian called them "Foolbirds" because they weren't very clever birds and were easy to catch. He learned to use his bow and arrow to kill the birds.

Feeling hopeless, Brian tried to cut himself with his hatchet, but he lived. After that experience, he changed himself into the "new Brian" and tried his best to survive.

Answer: Two hours

As a skunk entered Brian's shelter, it sprayed him with a stinky stench that could have permanently blinded him. The skunk then ate all of his food. Learning from that experience, he decided to build a storage for his food so that animals couldn't get to it.
