Answer: Plane tickets

Alex was celebrating his birthday with his family when he got a phone call. His niece, Caroline, had been murdered. 2. What nickname was given to the mobster Johnny Tucci?

Answer: Twitchy

Johnny Tucci was an inexperienced mobster who was given the task of transporting a "package," which was actually a body. At one point he had both the Mafia and the two ex-agent thugs after him.
3. What was the name of the president in the story?

Answer: Margaret Vance

In Alex Cross's world, the President of the United States was a woman, Margaret Vance. Her husband's name was Theodore. Dan Cormorant was in charge of the Secret Service. Gabriel Reese, the Chief of Staff, requested a meeting with Alex and he ended up meeting the president.
4. Which of the following women was NOT killed in the story?

Answer: Lauren Inslee

All four were call girls who worked for Tony Nicholson at his club at Blacksmith Farms. Caroline was the first girl the story mentioned, and she was murdered brutally. Lauren Inslee helped Alex discover the main person associated with Blacksmith- Zeus.
5. What did Alex and Sampson do to a witness to get her to talk?

Answer: They created fake evidence

Mara Kelly had information that Alex and Sampson needed. They presented her with faked plane tickets. Alex and Sampson made it appear that Tony Nicholson and his wife were fleeing the country. It was enough to get Mara to talk about the club that Tony was in charge of.

Answer: She fell into a coma

At first Nana was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She spent a short time in the hospital but then demanded to be taken home. She had another episode and was taken back to the hospital, where she lapsed into a coma. Alex stayed by her side as much as he could. Bree even took time off of work to look after her.
7. What salt-free food was Nana interested in making?

Answer: Crab cakes

After learning that Nana needed to stay away from salt, Bree printed a variety of recipes off from the Internet. Nana flipped through the collection and admitted crab cakes sounded good. She sneered at the prospect of making eggplant, because according to her, it was not possible to make it without salt.
8. Who didn't come to visit Nana in the hospital?

Answer: Michelle

Michelle was married to Alex's brother Blake until he passed away. She held it against Alex and hadn't seen his family in years. Caroline was her daughter. Michelle did not go to the hospital to see Nana, but Aunt Tia and Bree were there constantly.
9. What were the names of the hitmen Zeus hired?

Answer: Suarez and Overton

The first half of the novel described two men, ex-agents, abducting people and taking them to another man to be disposed of. Eventually their names, Suarez and Overton, were revealed. They had no idea who Zeus was. They were both killed in a shootout with Alex.
10. The mysterious murderer's identity was revealed at the end of the story. Who was Zeus?

Answer: Teddy Vance

The President's husband turned out to be the man responsible for several murders. Ironically, the head of the Secret Service, Dan Cormorant, was the one responsible for Zeus's death. He pulled the First Gentleman out of a party and shot him to death, right in front of all of the guards and Secret Service agents.

His actions were both acts of assassination and suicide, because he was shot down right afterward.
