Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. An old inhabitant of Derry tells Mike about Claude Heroux and the 'Silver Dollar'. Do you remember his name?

Answer: Egbert Thoroughgood

Thoroughgood spoke with a real tough accent. Mike says he's 99 years old. Norman Keene is the owner of the pharmacy where Eddie buys his 'medicine', Amsel Binson was a friend of Claude Heroux who died, and Ralph Roberts is the main character from 'Insomnia' which is set in Derry, too.
2. Who of the following is not a lunatic at Juniper Hill?

Answer: Kay McCall

Kay is Bev's best friend back in Chicago and a feminist. Jimmy Donlin was the guy who killed his mother and was caught while eating her brain, ugh. Benny Beaulieu was the one who always sang 'Try to set the night on fire'. Well, and I don't have to tell you who Henry is.
3. What was the name of Patrick Hockstetter's little brother?

Answer: Avery

Patrick Hockstetter was one of Henry's buddies, though not as close as Belch and Victor. He was mad. As a child, he killed his baby brother Avery, but no one knew. Only Patrick's father almost guessed the truth, but he didn't accept the thought.
4. During the Ritual of Chud 1985, who follows Bill 'into the black' to fight IT?

Answer: Richie

This one was easy. Remember, 1958 it was Bill who caught hold of IT's 'tongue', but 1985 he misses it. Richie suddenly runs forward, screaming in his 'voices', and manages to hurt IT and bring Big Bill back.
5. Who of the following is NOT one of the children who vanished and (or) was killed by IT?

Answer: Greta Bowie

I hope you all remember that Reginald Huggins is Belch's real name... Greta Bowie is dead, but she wasn't killed by IT. Eddie meets IT at the house of the Tracker bros., looking like Greta. 'She' tells him she died in a car accident when she was 18.
6. During the story of the 'Black Spot', a character appears who played an important role in 'Shining'. Who?

Answer: Dick Hallorann

Shame! I couldn't remember other characters from 'Shining' for the multiple choice possibilities, so I think this one is a giveaway. Of course, it's Dick Hallorann. Will Hanlon tells Mike he was a cook who sometimes seemed to know things...
7. How does the 'New-England-Version of the Ku-Klux-Clan' call itself?

Answer: Maine Legion of White Decency

Sometimes simply called the 'Legion of Decency'. They set the 'Black Spot' on fire.
8. 'Dreamcatcher' and 'Insomnia' are both set in Derry, too. In which of these books does Mike play a small role?

Answer: Insomnia

When I read 'Insomnia' and saw Mike's name, I was really happy - I felt like meeting an old friend. His role is not very big, but he is more than just mentioned. I think, Ben's name does also appear in the book. King also mentions the storm of 1985. In 'Dreamcatcher', the fact that there is no standpipe in Derry anymore is very important. Where it once stood, Mr. Gray finds a memorial stone with the names of the 'Loser's Club' carved in.
9. What did Sharon Denbrough hate?

Answer: Rock 'n' Roll

Sharon Denbrough had studied classic music until she was 23, and she always played the piano when the boys were younger. She hated Rock 'n' Roll.
10. Who always said 'Pardon my French if you're a religious man' (he talks to Bill)?

Answer: Dave, the taxi driver

Bill advices the taxi driver to leave Derry. In his mind, he refers to Dave as 'my French-speaking friend'.
