Clayton Westmoreland, Duke of Claymore persevered in his quest for Whitney's hand. In the course of doing so, he also won her heart. Nicki (Nicholas) DuVille was a close friend of Whitney's. He helped launch her debut in France, and fell in love with her along the way. Andre Rosseau was a devoted suitor who ran to do her every bidding at balls and such. Paul Sevarin was Whitney's childhood obsession.

She fancied herself in love with him, and did eventually wring out a proposal. However, once she had it she realized that he wanted her money as much as, or more, than he wanted her.

She came to her senses, and eventually she and Clayton got around to the 'happily ever after' part.

Answer: Charity Thornton

Whitney concocted the plan that brought Stephen and Sheridan back under one roof. Victoria and Alex agreed to help her. However, their plan failed quite miserably. Charity, however, used her very sharp logic to let Stephen know that a main factor in Sheridan's behavior was Nicki DuVille's influence.

Clayton disliked him because Nicki came very close to marrying Whitney himself. In fact, Ms. McNaught originally intended for Nicki to win Whitney at the end. Stephen disliked Nicki for almost the same reason. Sheridan, his wife, almost got away from him because of Nicki's...over talkative mouth. Jordan Townsende has no reason to dislike the man, for he had nothing to do with his wife.
