Izumi's eye color is unique because they are yellowish gold with a blue gradient at the top of each iris. The only other characters seen to have this color are his father and brother.
4. After shooting the commercial, Ryoma and Izumi flee a gang of crazed fans and find themselves standing in front of Izumi's dressing room. There, Ryoma confesses his love to Izumi. Shogo, Izumi's brother, hears Ryoma through the dressing room door and immediately kicks the door open, declaring that Ryoma must go through him before being allowed to date his brother. This shocks Ryoma; why? (Taken from volume one of the manga.)

Answer: Ryoma had always thought that Izumi was a girl

Izumi was not an original member of the cast in the first commercial. The girl who was to play opposite Ryoma was going to be late due to her plane being delayed. The director, fearing that the sun would not be right when she arrived, decided to cast Izumi in her place.

He was eight years old at the time (Ryoma was ten) and he passed easily for a girl. Ten years later, Izumi was once again dressed as a girl to play opposite Ryoma for the anniversary commercial, this time as his bride. Because of his small, slender frame, Izumi could pass as a female easily, which made the deception believable.
5. Ryoma is initially shocked to learn that the "girl" he has been in love with for ten years is actually a boy. Anger at Izumi for deceiving him, Ryoma insults both Izumi and his his brother, Shogo. What does he say to them? (Taken from volume one of the manga.)

Izumi remarks how he used to think Ryoma was such a nice guy and was shocked to see his bad side. Shogo tells Izumi that Ryoma is always like that.
6. Since the filming of the new commercial, Ryoma has been struggling at work. He seems to lose focus easily, and is often distracted by people who remind him of Izumi. He concludes that his problem is caused by the fact that he can't seem to turn off his feelings of love for Izumi, despite him being a guy, and decides to confront Izumi directly to disillusion himself once and for all. Who shows up at the last minute and hits Ryoma over the head? (Taken from volume one of the manga.)

Answer: Izumi's older brother Shogo

Ryoma believes that by confronting Izumi, he will rid himself of any romantic feelings he once had for Izumi. He finds this to be counter productive, though, and ends up kissing Izumi before unexpectedly getting hit over the head by Izumi's older brother Shogo. From this point on Shogo is reluctant to allow Izumi and Ryoma to be alone together.
7. Ryoma begins to feel extreme guilt over the way he's treated Izumi. It's obvious to him now that he loves Izumi, and the fact that Izumi is a guy doesn't matter to Ryoma at all. Fearing that Izumi hates him, Ryoma falls to his knees and bows before Izumi, begging him for forgiveness. Izumi feels sorry for Ryoma and gives in, reluctantly swapping contact information with him. At first Izumi sees Ryoma as an annoying distraction. He begins to warm up to him though after Ryoma agrees to help him do what? (Taken from volume two of the manga.)

Answer: Finish the manga Izumi has been drawing

Izumi desperately wants to finish the manga he's creating so that he can enter it into a contest, believing he will become a famous manga artist. Everyone around him, with the exception of Ryoma, sees how terrible Izumi's drawings are and they all try to convince him to pursue other options for his future. Izumi, of course, refuses to give up on his dream and seeing how important it is to him, Ryoma agrees to help Izumi finish the manuscript.

He stays up all night on his one night off of work so that he can help Izumi realize his dream.
8. Izumi submits his finished manuscript to an editor, convinced he will win the contest. However, his dreams are crushed when the editor tells him that he has no talent for writing manga. Izumi doesn't want to go home, thinking that Rei Sagara, the Sena family manager and also family friend, will give him the "I told you so" face, so instead he texts Rei and tells him he's leaving home forever and not to look for him. Where does Izumi end up going? (Taken from volume two of the manga.)

Answer: To Ryoma's house

Izumi finds Ryoma's home address in his contacts and shows up at his front door distraught, and smelling like garbage fbecause on the way he fell into a pile of trash. Ryoma tells him to take a bath and put his dirty clothes in the laundry basket. Ryoma then lends Izumi a pair of pajamas.

After his bath, Izumi puts on the pajama top, which is way too big for him and looks more like a night gown, then goes to sleep in Ryoma's bed. The scene ends with Ryoma sitting on the floor all night shaking, as he's having a difficult time keeping his hands to himself while the man he loves is asleep in his bed.
9. After Izumi explains to Ryoma why he came to his house so upset the previous night, the two have an argument and Ryoma storms off, saying he has to go to work. On his way out he sees Izumi's manuscript on the table and takes it with him. What does Ryoma do with the manuscript that Izumi worked so hard on? (Taken from volume two of the manga.)

Answer: He takes it to the publisher and gets Mr. Saotome to write a review of it

Ryoma cares very deeply about Izumi's feelings and doesn't want him to give up on his dreams. He takes the manuscript to the publishers and asks Mr. Saotome, the author of "Magical Girl LaLa-LuLu", to read the manuscript and write a review of it along with some kind words of encouragement. Mr. Saotome agrees, and writes that Izumi being so young needs to broaden his scope for future works.

He also notes that while his technique is a bit shaky, he sees real passion in his work. This sentiment really touches Izumi and brings him and Ryoma closer together.
10. After Izumi makes his show business debut, Ryoma becomes worried that Izumi will become too famous and someone will steal him away. After Ryoma confronts Izumi, he asks him what his true feelings are, and tells him that he wants something solid in their relationship. Izumi is still confused about his feelings for Ryoma at this point, but soon comes to realize that he does care for him. What happens to Ryoma that really puts things in perspective for Izumi regarding his true feelings? Taken from volume three of the manga.

Answer: Ryoma collapses from a fever caused by over work

Ryoma leans in for a kiss then suddenly collapses beside Izumi. Izumi panics and starts yelling for Rei to come and help. Ryoma is taken to the hospital where he is treated for a fever brought on by exhaustion from working himself too hard. Izumi speculates that some of the stress on Ryoma was also caused by Izumi. When Izumi goes home he starts ordering everything he can find pertaining to Ryoma, such as CDs, DVDs, merchandise, and magazines that feature him. He also starts reading Boy Love manga to further explore his feelings for Ryoma.

Ryoma does fall off a cliff but that is in a later volume of the manga.
