The assassination was ordered by Salmissra, Queen of the Serpents, in order to gain immortality from Torak, by ending the line that would ultimately produce his slayer. She didn't succeed though.

2. Where did Belgarath (in the form of a wolf) originally meet Poledra (who was also in the form of a wolf)?

Answer: Algaria

Belgarath met Poledra in Algaria, unaware that 2,000 years later she'd become his wife. However, in those days, Algaria didn't exist, it was still a part of Aloria.

3. How many years did Belgarath spend entertaining the women of Maragor?

Answer: 9

After Poledra "died", Belgarath wentthrough a self destructive period, first in Camaar, then in Maragor.

4. How does Grul the Eldrak pronounce Belgarath's name?

Answer: Grat

The shape of Grul's jaw makes it impossible for him to pronounce the word Belgarath. Grat is the closest he can come.
