Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What's the designation for R2's companion?

Answer: C-3PO

K-3PO is the white droid in "ESB". He is later destroyed by falling debris during the Imperial assault. M-3PO is known as Emtrey and is Rogue Squadron's quartermaster. U-3PO is seen on the Tantive IV. He worked as an Imperial spy and transmitted the coordinates of the Tantive IV to Vader's Devastator, although "Empire at War" as well as other "Star Wars" canon will tell you otherwise. C-3PO is the famous golden protocol droid created by Anakin Skywalker.
2. What does Han Solo call Threepio?

Answer: Goldenrod

In "ESB", Han tells Goldenrod to hurry it up. The name's mentioned more in the Expanded Universe, where Han basically stops calling C-3PO "Threepio" and begins calling him "Goldenrod."
3. What type of droid were IG-101 and IG-102?

Answer: MagnaGuards

IG-101 and IG-102 acted as General Grievous' bodyguards. They were destroyed by Obi-Wan and Anakin in "ROTS". The book of "ROTS" actually calls them IG-101 and IG-102, but the name's never actually mentioned in the movies. IG-88 and his companions are assassin droids, which IG-101 and IG-102 were either based off of or were the inspiration for (chronologically, IG-88 was designed after IG-101 and IG-102, but IG-88 has a lower number designation). Protocol Droids generally don't try their best to kill people, but more on that later. MagnaDroids don't exist.
4. Lando Calrissian created an extremely powerful battle droid for use against the Yuuzhan Vong. What was its designation?

Answer: YVH Hunter

YVH Hunters were used on many worlds against the technophobic Yuuzhan Vong. They were programmed with taunts claiming that they were better than the Yuuzhan Vong, a blasphemy in the Yuuzhan Vong religion. They actually did quite well against the Yuuzhan Vong, considering that they were the exact opposite of the Yuuzhan Vong, and probably would have encouraged them to fight harder. YVHs were seen in the latter books of "The New Jedi Order" series.
5. After the invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong was over, Tendrando Arms gave a few YVHs to the Skywalkers and the Solos. What was the designation of the Solos' bodyguard?

Answer: BD-8

BD-8 had a habit of being overly defensive of his charges. This habit got him into trouble with Raynar Thul, when he was part of the Unu Killik nest. Raynar completely destroyed BD-8 before crippling the Falcon's weapons and the Solo's Noghri bodyguards. BD-8 appears in "The Joiner King."
6. Obi-Wan Kenobi had an astromech droid that he used first on his Delta-7 Aethersprite starfighter and then on his Eta-2 Actis Interceptor. What was the designation of this droid?

Answer: R4-P17

R4-P17 accompanied Kenobi to Geonosis. Later, R4 was transferred into a full astromech body so that he could accompany Kenobi in the Eta-2 Actis Interceptor. During the Battle of Coruscant, buzz droids ripped off R4's head killing "her." Obi-Wan does mention her name in the films a few times, but he only refers to her as R4.
7. What company created the 3PO series of droids?

Answer: Cybot Galactica

Industrial Automaton produced mostly astromech droids. Their greatest success was the R2-series. Halowan Labs created the powerful IG-series of assassin droids. Unfortunately, this was their last creation, as IG-88 and his fellow IGs killed everyone working at the lab.

The Techno Union supported the Confederacy by making battle droids for the extensive Confederate armies under Wat Tambor. You'd have to be a real "Star Wars" geek to know the answer to this question, just like me.
8. These tanks were seen under the command of the Confederacy at the Battle of Kashyyyk. They were built by the Corporate Alliance. What is the designation and name of these tanks?

Answer: NR-N99 Persuader-class Droid Enforcer

The AAT is seen fighting against the Gungans in "Episode I". It did exist during the time of the Confederacy, but the AAT is created by Baktoid Armor Workshops. The TX-130T is an Imperial tank, as is the XR-85. The XR-85 fought at the Battle of Coruscant, during the Imperial Civil War. NR-N99s appeared in the Battle of Kashyyyk ("ROTS") where Wookiee commandos tacked time bombs to their sides in order to blow them up.
9. What battle droid was in command of all the Trade Federation forces on Naboo?

Answer: OOM-9

OOM-14's army was disabled when the Naboo city of Harte Secur stole the droid control program. His army was rebooted when OOM-9 recovered the program. I think EEK-14 is a hero in "Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds". ZZN-49 doesn't exist. OOM-9 is more of a video game character.
10. The bounty hunter and protocol droid 4-LOM works together with another bounty hunter. What is this Gand's name?

Answer: Zuckuss

Zuckuss is seen on the bridge of the Executor standing next to 4-LOM. Ooryl is a Rogue Squadron pilot. Zuckuss is a Findsman, but that's a title, not a name. Vaabesh is a Jedi Padawan who died on Jabiim during the Clone Wars. And yes, 4-LOM really is a protocol droid.

Some Hutt just implanted different programming. Zuckuss and 4-LOM appear all over the place, but I'm not sure what books they appear in.
