Stephen King's "Firestarter" Trivia Quiz

John Rainbird wants to get close enough to Charlie so that he can kill her and hopefully get his questions about death answered. Cap is the head of the Shop and is scared of Rainbird. Andy is kept away from Charlie while they are at the Shop. Orville (aka OJ aka The Juice) is the only character met more than once who has no real relevance to the story, most may remember him because his gun is named the Windsucker.

He picks Charlie and Andy up nearer to the beginning of the book and saves them from getting caught, for the moment at least. There is a battle at his farm that results in him getting a bullet wound; his house, his barn, and several of his animals getting burned up; and his wife getting a lot of stress added to her life. They later house Charlie when she escapes the Shop's base.

Answer: the windsucker

The Juice's other names are OJ and Orville Jamieson (King refers to him as "The Juice aka OJ aka Orville Jamieson" a couple times). This character I believe is actually only a filler character with no real purpose in the novel. He does, however, report the Manders' farm incident and helps several people working for the Shop get away at the end when Charlie lets it all loose. Even though he lacks relevance to the story, he is probably my favorite character.

This deals a great blow to Cap and it is mentioned numerous times how much older he looks. Rachel was his assistant.

Answer: Roberta

Andy is the name of Charlie's father, and the name they give her fake brother. Roberta is Charlie's middle-name, which is where she got it from. Norma is Irv's wife's name.

Answer: snake

A snake had bitten his older brother long ago and that had scared Cap (who was less than five at the time). Cap mistakes a hose for a snake and runs to it to kill it, trying to save his brother, and gets shot by Rainbird. I put it lion, tiger, and bear because I kept thinking about that "Wizard of Oz" song that I hate so much, "Lions, tigers, and bears oh, my!".

Rainbird is killed by Charlie in a big fire that she caused in order to escape from the base.

Answer: True

Rainbird kills him when Andy tries to get Charlie to freedom. This is a sad part of the book in my opinion.

Answer: to Irv and Norma Manders

Charlie rests here for a while before departing (just in the nick of time) to a library to find out where she can go to publish her story. Then she goes to the Rolling Stone's office.

Answer: True

She finds out that she can get it published in the Rolling Stone magazine. We never find out if she actually gets it out because the story ends just as she walks into the Rolling Stone office, but I have a feeling that it ended well for Charlie McGee.
