Elizabeth moved to Still Creek looking for a new life for herself and her son. She purchased the town newspaper and tried to settle in comfortably.

Dane came back to Still Water after a knee injury forced him to quit playing professional football. His wife had left him and he decided to go back to familiar territory. He was elected sheriff.
