2. What type of animal did Crusoe NOT have as a pet?

Answer: a sheep

Crusoe found a cat on the ship and then he found an unexpected present later in the book - kittens! He found his parrot on the opposite side of the island and beat it over the head to capture it. And Crusoe used to kill goats, but he soon realized that it would be easier to capture and tame them so he could get their milk.
3. How did Crusoe mark off the number of days he had been on the island?

Answer: notched them on a wooden stake

Crusoe did his best to notch the number of days on a wooden stake, but he ended up missing days and did not know how long he had been stranded until he was rescued.
4. What did Crusoe NOT create while on the island?

Answer: a wheelbarrow

Crusoe had many crazy attempts while trying to make all these items. He disliked what his table and chairs looked like but still used them because that's all he was able to create and he couldn't make pottery that actually resembled any real pottery. He did actually try to make a wheelbarrow, but he couldn't find a way to make the wheel.
5. Which edible plants grew on the island after Crusoe threw the seeds away?

Answer: barley

This was an amazing event, because not only was the climate of the island unsuitable for barley to be grown, but the barley looked too old and mouldy to be used.
6. What was a delicacy for Crusoe to eat?

Turtles were hard to come by on Crusoe's side of the island. On the opposite side of the island there were a lot of turtles, but it was too hard to drag turtles from this other side to his home.

8. What did Crusoe see on the beach that terrified him?

Crusoe became terrfied because he thought that he was going to be invaded by savages. He thought it was funny because the one thing he had been hoping for (a companion) is the one thing that he also dreaded.
9. How did Crusoe and Friday get off the island?
