Eve and Roarke have his family coming from Ireland for Thanksgiving, plus various friends and colleagues have been invited to have dinner with them.
Eve is wondering how to entertain the family for three days but Roarke assures her they already have plenty of their own entertainment planned and she can carry on working as normal.

Answer: Civilian Medal of Honour

Eve is stunned to find that, for her work in tracking down an anarchist group who committed mass murder, she is to be awarded the Police Medal of Honour. She is amused to find that, for his work in helping her, Roarke is to be given the civilian equivalent. Roarke however, whilst delighted for her, is shocked by his award.

After stabbing his mother multiple times when she tells him he has to either get a job or leave the family home, Jerry Reinhold then waits for his father to come home and kills him with a baseball bat. He then takes all their money, clears out their bank accounts, steals whatever valuables he can and goes on a killing spree.

Lorri broke up with Jerry after he stole all the tips she had saved from her job as a waitress, as well as the rent money. He then went on a trip to Las Vegas with his friends and lost it all gambling. When she threw him out he was forced to move back in with his parents, and he now holds her responsible for everything wrong with his life.

Lorri comes home from a shopping expedition with friends to find Jerri waiting for her in her apartment. He knocks her out, ties her up, and eventually strangles her. He is furious that she threw him out over money but has been on a shopping spree and he destroys everything she has purchased, except for a pair of new shoes, that he leaves on her body.

Mr Ursa contacts the Police when he recognises the items from a bulletin circulated to all jewellers. Eve and Peabody visit him and see Jerry Reinhold on the security tape selling the items. It's a family run business and Mr Ursa tells Eve he was sorry for Jerry as he told him he'd just lost both his parents.
Eve likes him, and later suggests to Roarke that if he wants to buy her something sparkly for Christmas he go there.

Answer: Turn it down

Eve is told that if she wants it she can have promotion to Captain. She turns it down. She explains that, at one time, when all she had was her job, she would have taken it as it would have confirmed how good she was at her job. However, as she is now married to Roarke with a happy home life she realises that the job she does best is solving murders.

She says she isn't yet ready to give that up to do what is, essentially, a desk job.

Jerry Reinhold is now after anyone that he has ever had a grudge against, and he tells Ms. Farnsworth that after she failed him at Computer Science she completely ruined his summer. Instead of hanging out with his friends during the holidays he has to study to ensure he passed the course next time. This, in his mind, gives him a reason to break into her house, overpower and torture her.

Answer: The Manor Hotel

The Manor Hotel is decorated in the style of an English country home. It is a fairly recent acquisition of Roarke's. He books a room there for the night rather than go home as it is early morning by the time Eve is finished at the crime scene and it is close. As he owns the hotel he has no problem in getting the best suite at such short notice.

Answer: Inserts a code that alerts the police when the identity card is used

Jerry Reinhold needs a new identity and identity card, and he forces Ms. Farnsworth to use her computer skills to help him create one. He follows her instructions and she manages to get him to insert a code that will alert the police as soon as he uses the new identity.

He also makes her transfer all her money to him, and she manages to get him to insert a code into the transfer instructions that will alert the recipient to the fact she is being forced to do it.
