The Black Ajah has worked in secret for the past 2000 years. Despite rumours of its existence, most Aes Sedai do not believe it actually exists.

2. What Black Ajah signal does Aran'gar use to identify himself to Delana?

Answer: Thumbs stuck between first two fingers on each hand

Delana is shocked to see this signal from a woman who cannot channel and therefore cannot be Black Ajah. She doesn't realise at this point that Aran'gar is a male channeler reincarnated in a woman's body.

3. Who placed Alviarin at the end of the Black Ajah?

Answer: Ishamael

This followed Ishamael's killing of Alviarin's predecesor, Jarna Malari.

4. The Black Ajah is organised into cells. By what name are these cells known?

Answer: heart

Each heart consists of three sisters, with each sister knowing one other sister in another heart.

Liandrin and twelve other sisters fled the Tower after stealing ter'angreal and murdering three sisters. Atuan has been identified to the Black Ajah hunters by Talene but still walks the White Tower freely.

Sierin Vayu was killed by the Red Ajah but at the instigation of a Black sister, Chesmal Emry, who feared that Sierin was about to expose her.

9. Who is the Black Ajah sister in Cairhien known to Elza Penfell?

Answer: Fera Sedai

Until they were both sent to Cairhien to help kidnap Rand, Elza did not know Fera was Black. Like Elza, Fera has sworn fealty to Rand; Elza does not feel she can trust her until she knows Fera's reasons for doing so. Elza'a own reasoning for swearing is that if Rand is not at the Last Battle then the Dark One cannot defeat him there. Faeldrin, Sashelle, and Turanna have all likewise sworn fealty, and while Min has assured Rand that Faeldrin is among those he can trust, we do not know their true allegiances.

10. Why does Seaine believe she can trust Pevara in the hunt for the Black Ajah?

Answer: Because Pevara's whole family was killed by Darkfriends

Seaine and Pevara were novices together, and Pevara does have a reputation for being unconventional and chose the Red, as it was more likely to put her in the path of Darkfriends than any other Ajah. However, her hatred of Darkfriends stems from the fact that her family was all killed in a Darkfriend uprising in Kandor. Seaine considered approaching her friend Talene Minly to gain her help in the hunt. Luckily, she thought better of it.
