Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Chachin is the capitol city of which nation?

Answer: Kandor

Chachin is very large, but is not considered one of the great cities, like Tear or Caemlyn. Because of its close proximity to the Blight it is heavily fortified, having three ringwalls and a 100-foot-wide moat.
2. The river Manetherendrelle begins in the Mountains of Mist and flows through several nations before meeting the Sea of Storms at which city?

Answer: Illian

This river is the southern half of the important trade route that, along with the river Arinelle, allows ships to sail from Saldaea in the north all the way to Illian in the south.
3. Which of the following cities is an independent city-state and not a part of a larger nation?

Answer: Far Madding

Lugard is the capitol city of Murandy. Elmora is a large town in Tarabon on the road between Tanchico and Amador. Bandar Eban is the capitol city of Arad Doman. Far Madding was the capitol of the former nation Maredo but is now independent.
4. Just north of Tear lies Haddon Mirk. This mostly uninhabited area can mainly be described as what type of land?

Answer: Forest

This vast forest also has many swamps and marshes. The terrain and large size make it a favorite hiding place of those who would rather not be easily found.
5. The Two Rivers has long been largely secluded from the rest of the world, partly because of its geography. What landmark effectively walls it off to the EAST?

Answer: The Waterwood

The Mountains of Mist wall off the western edge of the Two Rivers. The Manetherendrelle is called the White River in the Two Rivers because of its rapids and borders the area to the south. These rapids make it very difficult to cross into the Two Rivers from the south. The River Taren is to the north and provides the only easy entry into the region at Taren Ferry.
6. The capitol of Ghealdan is this city, which lies on the River Boern.

Answer: Jehannah

Jehannah was once a part of Manetheren and was known as Shanaine. Many of the nobility of Ghealdan choose to build their palaces in the relative safety that Jehannh provides.
7. The massive mountain range that divides the Aiel waste from the Westlands is called the Spine of the World, or the Dragonwall as the Aiel call it. Of the several passes through the mountains, which is the one that the Shaido use to attack the wetlands, being closely pursued by the Car'a'carn and the the rest of the Aiel?

Answer: Jangai Pass

The Jangai Pass is the start of the silk road that Cairhein used to cross the Aiel Waste to trade with the mysterious Sharans. They have since been forcefully banned from entering the waste thanks to Laman's foolish carpentry endeavors.
8. Which of the following is not a settlement within the nation of Andor?

Answer: Hinderstap

Hinderstap is a village in Murandy that was the victim of a particularly nasty bubble of evil, causing its inhabitants to become savage killers when night falls.
9. What is the name of the large plain that covers the borders of Saldaea and Kandor?

Answer: Plains of Lances

The Saldaean and Kandori use the plain to practice military formations and tactics.
10. The Rahad is a district in which capitol city?

Answer: Ebou Dar

The Rahad was the heart of the city before it was destroyed in the Trolloc Wars. When the city was rebuilt, the Rahad was largely neglected and has since become a dangerous place full of cutpurses and thugs.
