I worked out he must have been born in 1968/9, because in 'Secret Diary of...' he was 13 3/4, and the book was set in 1982.

Answer: George and Pauline

George is an ex-storage heater salesman, and Pauline is an aging feminist.

3. What is the name of Adrian's first love?

Answer: Pandora

An obvious question for diehard fans! Pandora has been an object of fixation for Adrian throughout his teenage and later years.

4. In 'Wilderness Years' what is the name of the girl who Adrian falls in love with, and who later leaves him for his stepfather?

Answer: Bianca

Bianca and Adrian had no common interests, so she left him for his stepfather Martin. This came as a shock to both Adrian and Pauline.

5. What was the name of Adrian's first wife?

Answer: JoJo

Adrian met JoJo when she replaced Bianca as a waitress; when he came back from his writer's cruise she was waiting for him. It is uncertain how the courtship and marriage take place, as it happens in between books.

Glenn was born when Adrian was 17, though he was not aware of his existence until he was told by Sharon Bott (the mother of Glenn) in 1997. Another possible father was Barry Kent, but a paternity test showed Adrian to be Glenn's true father.

She was named Rosie Germaine Mole. According to Adrian 'Everyone liked Rosie, but only my mother liked Germaine.' Rosie was named for Germaine Greer, the feminist writer who changed Pauline Mole's view of her life.

She stands for Labour MP for Ashby-De-La-Zouch, Adrian's hometown. She wins the election, beating the current MP who has been involved a few dodgy deals!

She has been married to George Mole the most, remarrying him in between husbands! She married Martin in 'Wilderness Years', and in 'Cappuccino Years' she begins an affair with Ivan Braithwaite. We later discover in 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' that she and Ivan wed, but he tragically drowned on their honeymoon.

Brett was the lovechild of Doreen Slater (AKA Stick Insect) and George Mole. Maxwell was Doreen's son from another relationship, his father later adopted Brett.
