Answer: The Dingo and Jay's

The Dingo and Jay's are the Greasers' hangout places. The Way Out and Rusty's are the Socs' hangout places. All of the hangout places are in the very beginning of chapter two. Fun Fact: In "That Was Then, This Is Now" the hangout place of both Greasers and Socs was Jay's because The Dingo was bombed.

Ponyboy says in the beginning of chapter two that he recognized Cherry when she turned around to yell at Dallas. "Boy, she was good looking. I'd seen her before; she was a cheerleader at our school. I'd always thought she was stuck-up."

After Dally left, Cherry had asked Ponyboy about his brother. She said "Man, your brother is one doll. I might have guessed you two were brothers-you look alike." Then Ponyboy grinned and thought "I don't think I look one bit like Soda, but it's not every day I hear Socs telling me they think my brother is a doll."

Cherry threw her coke in Dally's face and Dally started to get really upset. Johnny noticed how he was getting mad (Ponyboy did too, just didn't do anything). When Ponyboy and Johnny moved next to the girls "to protect them" they found out that they didn't have a car because "They'd come with their boyfriends, but walked out on them when they found out that the boys had brought some booze along. The boys had got angry and left."

When Cherry and Ponyboy were standing in line for popcorn, Ponyboy told her the story of the day Johnny was beat up. "He (Johnny) had been hunting for our football to practice a few kicks when a blue Mustang had pulled up beside the lot. There were four Socs in it. They had caught him and one of them had a lot of rings on his hand."
The Soc with the rings was Bob, Cherry's girlfriend."

This is mentioned towards the end of the chapter after Ponyboy and Cherry return with the refreshments. Two-Bit and Marcia talk the whole time because they have the same scatterbrained sense of humor. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Cherry sit there quietly and watch the rest of the movie.

"I really couldn't see what Socs would have to sweat about - good grades, good cars, good girls, madras and Mustangs and Corvairs-Man, I thought, if I had worries like that I'd consider myself lucky. I know better now."
