Well Niki was a little more than Lestat's friend... you know what I mean. Niki had a pretty bad end. First he was kidnapped by Armand and his satanic cult. Lestat had only one way of saving him, which was to turn him into a vampire. And after that Niki didn't do anything except play his violin and stare into space. That defeated Lestat's purpose of turning him into a vampire.

Then after a little while when Lestat was abroad Niki threw himself into a fire out of despair!

Answer: Because she was dying before his eyes of consumption

Just to make it clear consumption is what people called tuberculosis back then. His own mother was dying before his eyes so what else could he do? A few decades after he made her and they had traveled all over she left him and went off into the African jungle. He didn't see her again until the end of "The Vampire Lestat" (hundreds of years later).

Answer: Louis

He kissed Louis. Even if Lestat and Louis had a love/hate relationship they were a couple. After all, the reason that Lestat became a rock star is because he wanted to find Louis. His plan worked and they were reunited. Over the course of the rest of the books they keep in touch with each other and often visit or stay with each other. Of course, this is while being in love with other vampires or people at the same time. That's not a problem for them.

It was Lestat's idea, of course. He wanted to give the vampires that were part of Armand's satanic cult a chance to have a new life and purpose. Armand never forgave him for stopping his satanic cult. When Lestat came to Armand asking for help he pretended to help Lestat but then he threw him off a tower! It took Lestat two years to recover the strength to go back to New Orleans!

Tough Cookie is the right answer. The other band members are Alex, Larry, and, but of course, Lestat. After Lestat leaves because of his trouble with the vampire part of the world they continue on and have a rock career without Lestat involved.

Answer: Marius

Marius made Armand. Mael was a druid priest who had helped Marius on the way to Marius becoming a vampire. Mael later became a vampire himself. Pandora was another vampire Marius made. You can learn her story in "Pandora". Lestat was younger than Armand by about 300 years. Armand was younger looking but was centuries older than Lestat.

The vampire that gave Lestat their very powerful blood was Marius. The whole time Lestat had been traveling he had been leaving Marius notes and letters engraved on stone walls all over because he didn't belive Armand when he said that Marius was dead.

He did drink from Akasha on several instances though, just not that time. He begged Armand for some of his powerful blood after he had been almost killed by Claudia but Armand said no because he did not like Lestat and did not want to help him.

Marius found Lestat and brought him to the Greek island he lived on. He told him the story of the origin of vampires (which we later learn more about in "Queen of the Damned"). Marius brought Lestat down to an underground chamber and showed him Akasha and Enkil.

But seeing them once wasn't enough for Lestat, so he went down again. He hungered for Akasha's ancient and powerful blood, and he did get it. He played Niki's violin for them and they had an exchange of blood. Enkil was not so thrilled about Akasha being interested in another person.

He almost killed Lestat, but Marius comes just in time to save him.

Answer: Porsche

Lestat owned a Porsche. That was his getaway car at the concert when lots of vampires tried to kill him. There was a very action-packed pursuit and then the Porsche exploded with Louis inside. Of course he was okay, and then the vampires who were following him got incinerated by a mysterious power (which later turned out to be Akasha).

Answer: Gabrielle

Gabrielle made a surprise appearance and picked up Lestat and Louis and probably saved them. Other vampires were trying to kill them because Lestat had, after all, become a rock star and told lots of vampire secrets to the mortal world. Of course, no mortals really believed it. There was an action packed chase because the vampires that had not been incinerated followed them.
