Answer: How to fix Lightning

She says that the spell to fix the sword lies in the one that made her become one with the Bloody Hawk and made Jonathan the Voice.
2. What colored cord does the head man, Halef Seif, have tied around his burnoose?

Answer: scarlet

That was the color he was wearing when he rode to Alanna and told her that the sword that sliced Lightning in half was evil.

He wore blue robes and a dark blue cord. Alanna remembered that those were religious colors of the Bazhir.
5. What two men did George send to see what Alanna was up to?

Answer: Lightfingers and some other man

In "The Woman who Rides Like a Man" Faithful makes them look up, and Alanna recognizes Lightfingers and another man that she'd known a bit during her days in the Court of the Rouge.
6. When Alanna fought the shaman, how did he die?

Answer: He tapped his own life force

Alanna had no weapons with her when she went to see him. It was actually the Shaman who tried to choke Alanna with magical fingers, and Faithful stayed out of the fight.
7. What type of Magic does Kara have?

Answer: Weather Magic

Kara can make things fly when she is angry and it rains when she cries. Once lightning almost hit the shaman when he did something bad to Kara.
8. What are the names (that the Bazhir know) of the god and goddess who defeated the Ysander?

Answer: The Night One and the Burning-Brightly One

Alanna and Jonathan defeated the Ysandir. Alanna has bright red hair which is why she's called the Burning-Brightly One and Jonathan has really dark black hair which is why he is called the Night One.
9. Alanna had a vision; she saw a post in the sky with a woman burning on it two times.

Answer: False

Alanna saw the post and the madman exhorting himself in two visions, but only in the second vision, when Ishak destroyed himself, did she see a woman burning on the post. So she only saw the woman burning at the post ONE time.

Myles says to Kara that there is a Dancing Bear in Corus almost as shaggy as he is.
11. Does Lightning's crystal light up at all in this book? ("The Woman Who Rides Like a Man").

Answer: No

Answer: I need time to think

After the Rite of The Voice he orders her things packed and she gets really angry, and then she refuses to marry him because he called her unfeminine, and that's the end of their romance.
14. Who does Alanna marry in this book?

Answer: she doesn't marry anybody

15. Do they find out who Claw is, in this book?

Answer: No

They find out about Claw, but they don't find out who he is until "Lioness Rampant", the fourth book. Myles does recognize him, but he can't place the voice with the face. So Myles hires an agent to find out the mysterious identity of Claw.
