Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What high school did all the main characters attend?

Answer: Hayden High

In the movie Hayden High's mascot name was Warriors. Mike considered his years at Hayden some of the best years of his life while Ned said they were the worse years of his life and didn't want to go back.

An oops from the movie - when Mike is dancing with the cheerleaders before the basketball game, his coach tells him to wrap it up and calls him Vanilla Ice. Vanilla Ice doesn't hit it big until 1990 but the movie is set in 1989.
2. Mark made a fool of Stan in the lunchroom by stating that Stan was a bully because of three reasons. Which of the following is NOT a reason that Mark gave?

Answer: His lunch money was habitually stolen by girls in elementary.

Mike (as Mark) stood up to Stan in the lunchroom right after finding out that his son was bullied by Stan and his daughter was dating him. However, while Mike beat him verbally, Stan beat him in a physical fight later in the movie.
3. Ned's bed was in a shape of what?

Answer: A "Star Wars" landspeeder

Ned was seen as a complete nerd in high school. When we saw him again as an adult, his entire house showed he still held the same things as very important. But now he's very rich so he had some very large and expensive "toys" for a nerd.
4. What promotion was Mike expecting at the beginning of the movie?

Answer: Regional sales manager

Mike worked at Wyatt Pharmaceutical where it appeared he was the oldest member of the sales team. His manager had "been in the business" for "almost 2 years" now with many of the other members "oohing" over that length of time.
5. After Mike changed back to his 17-year-old self, which of the facts below did he NOT say to Ned to convince Ned who he really was?

Answer: Ned was cast as an extra in a "Star Trek" movie as a Klingon.

Ned's responses, as they were fighting with light sabers and swords:
Mike - "You have an undistended testicle." Ned - "googleable"
Mike - "You helped me cheat on my math exam. I got caught." Ned - "public record"
Mike - "You invited Princess Leia to Jr. Prom." Ned - "covered by the local news"

What finally convinced Ned is a picture he was about to smash onto Mike - a high school picture of himself and Mike. He was staring at the same face that was in the picture.
6. What language did Principal Masterson reveal to Ned that she spoke?

Answer: Elf

It turned out Ms. Masterson was a big sci-fi junky like Ned. The romance took a positive turn until they showed up at Ned's house to find Mark having an after-game party that was totally out of control. No one listened to Ned but Ms. Masterson whistled for everyone's attention and said anyone who didn't want three months of detention better leave the party now! After the last party goer left, she turned to Ned and stated the romance was not as inconspicuous as she had wanted and that was was why she never dated students' parents.
7. At first Mike thought his Spirit Guide gave him a second chance for basketball and getting it right. But, he then realized it wasn't about basketball but instead it was about what?

Answer: Helping Alex and Maggie

Mike went to high school and found out his son was the basketball team's punching bag and saw his daughter get a tongue bath by the school bully, who was her boyfriend.
8. What kind of seduction technique did Ned try on Ms. Masterson?

Answer: Peacocking

Peacocking is dressing in bright, wild and over the top clothes so as to draw attention to one self in the dating game.

Ned wore a bright turquoise top, a studded cowboy hat and jeans. He strutted into Ms. Masterson's office and she immdediately asked him, "Are you peacocking?!?"
9. Maggie took Mark's refusals as a sign that he was gay. She gave three reasons why she should have known that. What one answer below was NOT a reason she gave?

Answer: He felt high schoolers should choose abstinence.

Maggie referred to him as "confused" and Mark first agreed, just trying to get out of the romantic position he was in with Maggie. He then realized that Maggie meant "gay" by the word "confused". He then refuted it and said he was confused because he was in love with another woman.
10. How did Ned become rich?

Answer: He invented the software that prevents people from stealing music.

He also invented the software that HELPS people steal music. But, as Ned stated, "That is a happy coincidence."
