An oops from the movie - when Mike is dancing with the cheerleaders before the basketball game, his coach tells him to wrap it up and calls him Vanilla Ice. Vanilla Ice doesn't hit it big until 1990 but the movie is set in 1989.

What finally convinced Ned is a picture he was about to smash onto Mike - a high school picture of himself and Mike. He was staring at the same face that was in the picture.

It turned out Ms. Masterson was a big sci-fi junky like Ned. The romance took a positive turn until they showed up at Ned's house to find Mark having an after-game party that was totally out of control. Maggie referred to him as "confused" and Mark first agreed, just trying to get out of the romantic position he was in with Maggie. He then realized that Maggie meant "gay" by the word "confused". He then refuted it and said he was confused because he was in love with another woman.

He also invented the software that HELPS people steal music. But, as Ned stated, "That is a happy coincidence."
