Jacob spies on Kira while she is taking a shower and becomes infatuated with her when he sees her body is adorned with religious tattoos. This reminds Jacob of his past and sets him off even more. He manages to kidnap her and take her to his hidden den, where he keeps her all to himself in a cage like an animal.

He has these long sharp fingernails that he uses to pluck out the eyeballs of his victims. He then saves their eyes and puts them in jars. The reason for him doing this is due to Jacob's very traumatic childhood, since he is tormented maliciously by his mother. This gruesome removing of human eyeballs is also what gives meaning to the movie's title.

Goodnight uses the hook attached to a long chain to catch one of his victims and drag them. Another winds up getting strung up with the hook right through the bottom of the chin. He also uses his nails to gouge out their eyeballs, not to mention his brute strength that can't be matched.

All the deaths are grisly and memorable, but some are more than others. Officer Frank Williams gets killed with the hook in the chin. Melissa Beudroux gets mauled by hungry stray dogs while being hung up upside down. Some would say though that the scene that stands out as the most unusual would be Zoe Warner getting her own cellphone shoved down her throat. Pretty creepy!
