Thus, he learns that Tuco and Blondie are on the hunt for an amount of Confederate gold. Determined to acquire at least part of the treasure, he partners with Blondie. Later, Tuco escapes and rejoins them.

While he had initially followed Voldemort, after the latter's failure to kill the infant Harry Potter, he worked secretly with Albus Dumbledore to protect the boy, due to the emotions he had for Harry's mother.

Théoden is killed when he tries to face the dreaded Witch-King. His horse, Snowmane, panics and both are pinned down by the Witch-King's fellbeast. Théoden is immediately avenged by his niece Eowyn, who had disguised herself as a man in order to participate in the great struggle.

When the Witch-King tells his fellbeast to devour the dead King, the youthful shieldmaiden steps between them and challenges the Witch-King. With two strikes, she severs the head of the fellbeast, but is disarmed by its rider.

The Hobbit Merry Brandybuck stabs the Witch-King at the knee, forcing him to bend. Eowyn promptly grabs her sword and thrusts it at the head of the Witch-King, dispatching him.
