"A Fish Called Wanda" pt 2: KKKKen's Revenge Quiz

Answer: Whiskey

Watch closely and you'll see a continuity error in the film. First she asks for whiskey. Several moments later Otto (watching from outside) sees Wanda and Archie embrace, and Archie has a champagne bottle in his hand. Still later, after they have rolled around on the sofa for a while, Wanda says she's "hot" (really?) and wants something "cold".

This is when Archie goes downstairs to get the champagne. There's quite a surprise waiting when he returns!

Answer: "Code Red"

When Wendy questions the logic of "keeping the public informed" about an obviously secret operation, Otto tries to baffle her with official sounding terms, including all of the above except 'code red'. That term, as you may know, is from the 1992 military courtroom film "A Few Good Men".

Answer: No

Far from it, she says "Why on earth not?" Otto then goes off on a vulgar tirade about how England would be the "smallest province in the Russian empire" if not for America.

Answer: Hong Kong

Archie tells Wanda they have gone to Hong Kong, and will be "gone for weeks". Only later, on their second visit, do they discover the flat has been sub-let to Ian and Hazel Johnson.

Answer: "Every man for himself"

We never actually hear Otto say this, but it is among a list of "facts" he has obviously told Wanda. Questioning their accuracy, she has "looked them up", and now takes the opportunity to point out his errors. Otto had also told her that Aristotle was Belgian, the London Underground is a political movement and that the Gettysburg Address was were Lincoln lived.

Answer: Bed warmer

The bed warmer (probably an antique) was hanging on the parlor door, and provided Otto with an ideal weapon of opportunity. Otto hits him twice, once to stun him, the second knocks him out; right about them, Otto figures out the 'burglar' is actually Archie.

In cold climates (especially before central heating) the metal container would be filled with hot coals to warm the bed-clothes before retiring.

Answer: cruelty

Otto uses this quote to justify his torture of Ken as he tries to find the key. Otto gets this quote 'nearly' verbatum, from "Beyond Good and Evil"; "Almost everything that we call 'higher culture' is based upon the spiritualizing and intensifying of cruelty..."

Answer: Chips

Otto also finds another use for the versatile food; shoving them up Ken's nose each time he answers a question incorrectly. A few moments later, Otto wonders aloud what he might eat with chips "to make them more interesting." Ah, yes; fish! And Ken's got a whole tank full of them.

Answer: "They're not ripe."

Turning up his nose, Otto tells the chair-bound Ken "Avoid the green ones, they're not ripe yet." I'm quite sure Ken would never consider eating ANY of his fish, regardless of their color.

Answer: Sawed-off shotgun

This, of course, sends George in to a rage that culminates with the courtroom having to be cleared. The nature and wording of Archie's examination makes it obvious to Wendy (who is there to observe) that Wanda is the girl that her husband has been seeing.

Answer: Buenos Aires

George and the gang had planned all along to go to Rio. Wanda had told Otto that they would go to Rio. Archie and Wanda do end up going to Rio, but in the scene outside the court, Archie says "Buenos Aires". First, however, they have to stop by George's flat and find the location of the lock-box.

Answer: He drives on the right.

Three times during the film we see Otto drive a car. Each time he is involved in, or causes an accident because he drives on the right (or I suppose I should say 'wrong') side of the road. Each time, he curses at the other driver, using a common, derogatory expletive that the editors won't allow me to quote here.

Answer: Oxford

Archie says "I used to box at Oxford." Otto then picks up the gun that Archie had laid down and replies "And I used to kill for the CIA." Chivalry is dead.

Answer: North Vietnam

Otto says the stuck-up English are jealous of America because "you don't like winners". "Winners..." Archie responds, "...like North Vietnam?" Otto tersely 'reminds' him that "we didn't lose Vietnam, it was a tie."

Answer: When Wanda kissed him

Right after Otto tries to kiss him, Ken is a stammering fool, but after Wanda gives him a deep, long kiss his speech is perfect. "There's a key, I don't know what it's for." Sadly, the condition returns.
