After the Jade Buddha is stolen from the village of Jackie Chan's character, Passepartout, he breaks into the Bank of England to steal it back. While running from the police he ends up at Phileas Fogg's laboratory. In order to avoid the police he poses as Fogg's new valet.

Fogg takes Passepartout into his lab and whistles, turning the lights on. He says he has borrowed light bulbs from Thomas Edison. Passepartout whistles in admiration and the lights go off. Fogg says maybe his idea needs a bit more work.

The Black Scorpions are the Chinese gang that had entrusted the Jade Buddha to the Bank of England after stealing it from Passepartout's village. They want it back and pursue Passepartout through the streets of London and further once he begins his journey around the world with Fogg.

General Fang is the leader of the Black Scorpions. She goes to the Royal Academy of Sciences to demand the return of the Jade Buddha but Lord Kelvin tells her it is her problem. He then makes a joke about the fact that he won't take orders from a woman and the camera pans to a picture of Queen Victoria, whom he ironically works for. General Fang is a martial arts expert who is seeking to get arms from the British and is willing to do anything in this pursuit, including kill Fogg.

Answer: Dan Aykroyd

Dan Aykroyd is not in the movie. Aykroyd is most well-known for his work on "Saturday Night Live" and in the "Blues Brothers" and "Coneheads" movies. Richard Branson plays the man in Paris in charge of the hot air balloon ride. This is fitting since he is the owner of Virgin Atlantic Airlines. Macy Gray is a young mother in an apartment in Paris that Paasepartout saves from a fire.

She is a Grammy winning singer. She attended the premiere with her son Mel. John Cleese is a Bobby in London at the end of the movie. Cleese is best known for his work with Monty Python.

Answer: Kathy Bates

Kathy Bates plays Queen Victoria. She arrives at the Royal Academy of Sciences right when Lord Kelvin is saying nasty things about her. She has Lord Kelvin arrested and taken away. She says she bet 20 quid on Fogg to win the race. In a breach of etiquette Fogg hugs her because he is so happy but she does not seem to mind. Bates is better known for her dramatic roles, including her Oscar winning role in "Misery", but proved she can do well in comedy too.

Answer: Luke and Owen Wilson

Luke and Owen Wilson play the Wright Brothers. They rescue Passepartout, Fogg, and Monique from being stranded in the desert when their stage coach breaks down. The Wright Brothers give them a bicycle wheel to repair the damaged wheel on the stagecoach so they can continue on with their journey. Fogg uses their schematics to build his flying machine at the end of the movie.

The Wilson Brothers both got their start in a movie co-written by Owen in 1994 called "Bottle Rocket". They have an older brother, Andrew, who is also an actor.

Answer: Lau Xing

When Passepartout returns to his village Fogg learns who he really is and his real name, Lau Xing. Fogg is upset with Lau and Monique, who also knew Passepartout's real name, for lying to him and leaves them behind when he continues his journey. They find him in San Francisco where he has been robbed and help him get back into the race.

Answer: Tigers

The "Ten Tigers of Canton" is a true Chinese legend. It turns out that Lau Xing/Passepartout is actually one of them along with his eight brothers and one sister. Together the ten defeat the Black Scorpion gang who promise to never return to the village.

At first it appears that Fogg is too late to win the bet but then Queen Victoria tells him he still has a day to get to the top of the steps. It turns out Lau Xing/Passepartout had been adding one hour to Fogg's watch for each time zone they travelled through so they had actually arrived on day 79, not day 80. Fogg goes to the top of the steps and claims his prize.
